    Hi all,

I tried to login from Unity Hub and it was success in browser but nothing happened in Hub. The Login page gave me a redirect link as "unityhub://...", I tried to use this link by command "UnityHub.AppImage unityhub://..." but no luck.
Then I thought if I can manually add a license, I can bypass the login process. However, after license added, the login launcher appeared again. Now I'm really confused, how can I use Unity?

    Managed a little workaround:

    ./UnityHubBeta.AppImage --appimage-extract

this will create a "squashfs-root" folder
from there, you can start the unityhub script with the redirect link as a parameter

    ./unityhub unityhub://login/?code=...

The "unityhub://..." part is attainable from the html page source code when the xdg-open fails after the first sign in attempt.

    Edit: Debian 11

    Hello!
I also have the problem described on Linux Mint 20.2. The workaround doesn't work for me. Anyone found the solution yet? :(

    Hi,
I tried this on Manjaro (KDE) and got "zsh: parse error near `&'"
I then decided to put quotation marks (", but I think ' will work too) on the "unityhub://..." part and I got it working. Hope this info is helpful to anyone.

I tried all of these other things, nothing worked. I fixed it by following the first step from the unity manual:
    In terminal
    chmod +x UnityHub.AppImage

I then copied this process with the INSTALL.sh file:
    In terminal
    chmod +x INSTALL.sh

    I then ran INSTALL.sh:
    In terminal
    ./INSTALL.sh

booted up as normal from there.

I'm not sure that compiling the .AppImage file is even necessary to run INSTALL.sh, I just don't want to repeat the process to verify what is happening here

    Yes it has worked.
    Because it said:
Registering the required unityhub URL scheme with XDG

    It put under to ~/home/Applications

It was funny. All we just needed to use the install script :D

Just installed Unity Hub 3.2; removed the old Unity Hub 2.x (AppImage). Running Ubuntu 22.04 & using Firefox. When I went to sign into the hub, it opened Firefox and the page that it loaded was a blank page. did a little digging thanks to UnityJuju's comment, and I tried to open "unityhub://2019.4.8f1/60781d942082" in my browser. That worked, but it still wouldn't sign me in. I went into Firefox's settings, looked for unityhub in the "Applications" section of the General settings. I used the dropdown to "choose an application" for the links. I pointed it at /opt/unityhub/unityhub-bin. I went back, closed, reopened, and then re-signed into Unity Hub 3.2; it opened the same page in Firefox, but this time it asked me if I wanted to open the link in Unity Hub. I clicked "Remember My Decision" and clicked Yes/Okay.
Unity Hub got my login info authorization from the browser and immediately logged me into Unity Hub. [Solved for me]
Sharing this here, to help others that may be having the same issue as I had. Good luck and I hope that this helps!! :)

Hub 3.4.1 is not loggining in Ubuntu 20

Opens the browser and page is not loading

Why on earth i upgraded the Hub is beyond me, i should be shot for that :)

    Now cant work

Thanks a lot for this, hopefully will work

But lol, we should not have to do all that to login, Unity should fix this now.

Why does it redirect to login is beyond me, first is a security risk, no program should ever redirect to my browser, ever !

That is why any other problem may appear.

turns out ubuntu is dumb. my problem is that ubuntu installed firefox on its own so i thought it would be the default browser.

Firefox was not the default browser and there were no other browsers so unity didn't know what browser to open.

to fix just go to settings and check that firefox is you default

Hello, here is the solution I found after some research.

I am on Lubuntu 22.04 with firefox installed via ppa and not snap.
and with unityhub 3.4.1 installed from PPA (so faster than appimage)
should normally work for the appimage version.

    - open from the application menu > programming > unityhub.
    - click on SignIn
    - on the open empty window, display the sources with Ctrl U.
    - in the sources copy the string, which contains "unityhub:xxx".
    - close the unityhub
    - open a terminal and start unityhub with the previously copied string.
In my case I was already connected to the web version, so it was installed.

    - close unityhub, and your terminal.
    - launch unityhub from your application menu.
    - do things

    This worked for me too.

Just for reference, to launch unithub from the terminal enter unityhub followed by the copied url like so:
    Code (CSharp):
    1. unityhub unityhub://login/?code=blabla...

Hello! Just to put my two cents, the PPA didn't work, but the AppImage did. It wouldn't open the link properly, so I opened the sources of the page it opened, and passed that as an argument to the AppImage. And that worked. Whoohoo, finally!
