Unity's version control component has been upgraded to Plastic SCM.

Will we be forced to move to Plastic?

    Hello
Today me and probably all users of Collab get an e-mail where we could read:

"-On November 26th, we will begin upgrading the version control component within selected Teams Advanced plans from Collaborate to Plastic SCM.
Next year, Unity Teams and Collaborate will be going away. We are still working out exact timelines but will be in constant communication with you between now and that date."

What with Standard Team users that pay only for additional storage. Small projects don't need in many cases advanced source control, just actual collab version to backup projects on servers or simple collaboration.

My question is What with users that are using unity teams free? Will Unity force them to use Plastic and pay an additional 9$ per month? It's 108$ per year of additional payment, so probably most of the users that have been using collab only to back up their project or to work on 2-3 pcs will just resign from that offer.

I would be very grateful for any info about that :)
