Welcome to the start of something awesome!

How about a renegade team of industry professionals with the crazy idea of throwing AAA graphics to the curb, and over the top budgets to create something downright fun just like the early pioneers in our industry, all the while blogging about it?

Hehe ... its good to see that alot of people still believe in good game play over next gen graphics. Im from the days of intellivision and atari. Games were so unique once upon a time.

@Willc - Yeah those were the good days. I still remember the sound of my C64 data tape recorder/player. Loading a game to play was an experience in itself. Loved those Atari/Commodore64 days and I am happy I was around when all that happened.

Locked! ;) Well you will have to show a bit more patience and visit our blog for future updates. There are going to be a lot of neat things about this game and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we like creating it.

I always like the idea of taking an older game with older graphics and re-doing them using new graphics, but keeping all the original game play.

The problem as I see it these days, is they re-do the graphics, but they also change all the gameplay, which takes away from how you remember it.

    Hey again guys,

Thanks all! Yeah the word spread around really quickly. We are now on Kotaku, Toucharcade, HandheldArcade and many others! We are a bit overwhelmed to be honest :) Didn't expect that sort of response. Also, you can now "Like" us on Facebook (or hate us... whatever you choose!)

I think our look is more related to the old days C64/Amiga and NES ... or a strange mix of all of these. Pixel art nowadays is different due to the fact that our color palette is far bigger for instance. Anyways, glad you like it. Make sure to subscribe for updates!

I've been wanting to do a pixel art game for a few years now, but I'm hoping this gets released before I get round to it, as I feel I'd rather PLAY this than make my own retro game. It is that exciting-looking. Come on Thomas forget tv, forget food, just finish this. I need.

It's definately got a touch of amiga in there some where!

Haha, I stopped watching tv a while ago as a matter of fact. I get food served by my wonderful wife and everything else is taken care of. As you can see I am dedicated to making games ;) Couldn't do it without my partners though. Bjorn and Matt are both hard working people. It's a great team.

However, you shouldn't let our game stop you from making your very own "pixel" game! There is always room for just another awesome pixel game on the market!

Actually I'm thinking of a pixel game (although nothing like yours, more of a metal slug shooter affair) but its actually a heck of a lot of work. People think "oh it's just retro, its easy" but no! it's actually tonnes of unique art, and making it look sort of modern yet old yet new takes a lot of effort :)

This looks awesome. Good luck with the project.

Like the mario/luigi look to them which I'm assuming is what you're aiming for.

Thomas weren't you working on a top down Diablo style game? If so whatever happened to it (think it had the work dungeon in it)...?

@KrankyBoyGames - Hey there. Indeed, it was called "Dungeon Legend" and is still coming ;)

This game currently has 50% of my 'me gusta!'

The other 50% goes to Retroformer and RoboFrenzy!

    Keep up the good work!

I have a question, with the art style similar to that of old games could this game(Technically) run on old kind of hardware?

The goal is to support older hardware as well yes. However, that will all have to be tested first. We shall see how this works out :)
