Getting Started with Networking

Hello all,
I'm working on a mobile 2-player game for the first time and I'm having trouble understanding how the players appear in each scene. They finish the scene together and then spawn in the next scene. I have a spawning point on the scene but I'm unclear about how the players should spawn in a new scene. Can anyone point me to relevant reading material or tutorials on this topic?
