Take a look at this site:

    http://artblock.ru/html/downloadmodels.htm

And then take a look at some models on the assetstore.
Especially the Cartoon Truck with damage model.

"All these models are free, you can use them as you wish. "
But does that mean you can sell them for money ?

The site seems to be a bit older than the realease date of the assets.

I´m just wondering that no one else see this before.

"It's not ready low-poly model, it is my piece.
These models are completely free, we can only finish makeup and their textures, and you can use whatever you like.
    Hopefully useful for beginners modeler
all these models are free, you can use them as you wish"

Certainly sounds like you could take them and resell them. Still, I wouldn't do it, unless I had some awesome value-add, and would credit the original author.

But thanks for the link, He has a lot of useful models. Know any more like this?

No, i just found that site on the search for a reference model.
Coz of the awesome quality i downloaded some of them.

Now i find them on the assetstore for sale makes me a bit confusing :)

And i dont really believe that the author means selling by "use them as you wish"

Yeah that sucks - reselling somebody else's work (just because somebody is courteous and allows free commercial and non-commercial use). If these are in fact same models.

Maybe that's why guy calls himself Drakkula (very befitting) but seriously it does look same but from the technical standpoint I'm talking about UV isles and mesh (topology / polygon count / face count / form). If these are same or similar then it's plain plagiarism. In the words of The King:

The truth is like the sun - you can shut it out for a time but it ain't going away.
    -Elvis Presley

I'm glad you found originals if they are in fact same.

Admins should sticky this thread so people can download those trucks without getting charged. If not I'll download those models Uni-fy them and post them in the Asset store for free linking author's site.

I dont need to look at UVs or polycount, these are the models from artblock.ru.
Just take a look for yourself. The models have a very unique artstyle, both in texturing
    and modeling.

Yes but in the court of law it's "innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt". I agree with you though artblock models look same and I'm convinced these are his models (artblock admin made them) otherwise he wouldn't have provided .max files (little precaution I implement myself when giving stuff away). I always keep originals to myself (.max with all the history in them). The question is as follows:

    is Drakkula the artblock admin?

If not we can post artblock models here for free for everyone to use. They're quality. If not Drakkula has a sense of humour by posting somebody else's freebie stuff and making money off of it. Lol. I admire the man for the use of the language (awesome description, great talker) so I guess he's charging the Russian dude for translation. Hah ha! True capitalist. But the greatest treasure he cannot sell and have (Russian dude's wisdom, knowledge and selflessness).

Google translate says the resume in the artblock website is of the person "Andrew Makrushin"

If he is the same person known whose username is Drakkula, who is selling the same assets on Unity asset store, why would he give them away free on his own site while sell it in another place? At the same time?

Most of the models Drakulla offers are on the artblock site:
    dog
    tractor
    bathyscaphe
    submarine
    tree stumps

Can't help but wonder if they are affiliated somehow.

Drakkula is giving bad name to Dracula who was maybe cruel (times were cruel) but not a thief and certainly brave.

Yes indeed, it's been 4 days since I submitted Artblock Trucks in the asset store for free (pending still). Meanwhile the package I submitted yesterday got approved same day. I wonder what the problem may be. Even if Drak took the time to actually adjust those trucks for Unity and then put them in the store I actually did the same - I also took the time, only I put them in the store free of charge crediting the original author.

Maybe the models were sold X times. There is money involved...

Its not easy to deal with it. But they must proof the "Sellers" better,
before let them sell their Stuff.

This and the latest payment issues don´t let the assetstore looks very professionel.

There was someone selling stolen content not long ago.
They only take down the "pirated" assets, everything else from this person is
still available. But no one can exacly be sure that the others assets are not stolen, too.
    His account wasn´t deleted !

Just think about it as a customer.
You buy some assets, make your game and sell it.
This can bring you in serious trouble if the content is stolen.

There is a simple way to prove the ownership of 3D model contributors.
They have to provide a "layered" UV texture file (maybe a PSD) with the UV outlines.

If they cant provide it, something must be wrong.

1st of all are those models completely free?

2ndly doesn't surprise me at all that unitystore won't shut down the models with pricetag....
same thing is happening right now on turbosquid.... someones is selling forza motorsort 3 models....!!!!!!

the models have been reported twice at different times by a friend and me
and they are still up there....

well i was contacted that they will look into it,but nothing happened so far...

not only those lowlifes who do that should rot in hell,
for making profit from other peoples hard work (in second case i couldn't care less for m$)

but as Phex said, you could end up having some serious legal troubles...

    and that makes me wonder....
is it right for e-stores like that to prioritize profit
    over customer safety?
