    Hello Unity developers! I am Ugur Poyraz from the Unity Web Platform Team.

    We are reaching out to inform you about upcoming changes to the RSS feeds on unity.com release pages, LTS releases, tech releases, alpha releases and beta releases. The implementation is scheduled on Wednesday May 22, 2024.

    If you currently utilize our RSS feeds, please review the details below to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted service.

    What to expect:

    We are decommissioning the platform where the release notes are hosted and moving it all to the new web ecosystem, almost all release notes pages/urls will continue to be available on Unity.com. Our pages loading faster, release notes information getting updated quicker are some of the benefits of the larger initiative; and it also brings us an opportunity to streamline the RSS feeds. We will, therefore, implement the following improvements to our RSS feeds:

    1. Consistent URL structures: The URLs within the RSS feeds will undergo modification to ensure uniformity, facilitating future stream additions.

    2. Improved RSS feed content: We will adhere to proper RSS guidelines, ensuring that the RSS streams are structured with the following elements consistently. The

    • Title: Version details.
    • Link+GUID: Direct link to the ReleaseNote page and raw release notes MD.
    • Date: Release date.
    • Description: Version-specific information.

    Example:

    // ..... Not the exact/full payload, but it will be a list of releases with the same/similar layout

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" version="2.0">

    3. We will no longer serve the full release notes in the RSS feed, instead a link to the md file will be available. This is consistent with the way RSS feeds should work.

    Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Warm regards,

    Unity Web Platform Team

    Did the paths already change? The lts-releases.xml works, but the beta, alpha and tech-and-preview do not.

    Ah, seems like it is fixed (or they planned it for the 29th all along but specified the wrong date in the initial post).
