Zoom Animator Controller Window

    Hello

    I am new to Unity and have only one monitor, so I watch the tutorials on the same monitor as the Unity Window/Executable. Unfortunately, I cannot "Zoom Out" the "Animator Controller" window, which prevents me from being able to see my whole Blend Trees.

    Is there, or can you add the ability to Zoom Out the "Animator Controller" window so I can see more nodes at once?

    Afraid not at the moment, though it's on the "up and coming" list.

    How dumb is that....
    Mecanim is such a powerful tool & yet they left out a basic zoom functionality...
    but hey ... Unity5 will incorporate a new mechanim feature..
    they call it " ZOOM "

    Wow !! that alone's worth the upgrade... ;)

    Is there not even some sort of hack to make state icons smaller or something? :|

    Is this planned for the future at all? or any info if its being considered?
    im using a laptop (all i have) and screen real estate is difficult to manage at the best of times, this would make things alot easier to see when following tutorials etc.

    Still cannot zoom out the animator window to see more animation states :cool: Ugh! Two years has passed lol.

    LOL!
    I thought I was just being a dumbass when I could not even zoom that hierarchy animator panel out...

    Its a relieve its not my fault XD

    Honestly though, I'd rather see bugfixes than a zoom feature.

    I agree, lack of zoom is annoying, first i tried alt+scroll eheh ... I realized it is not Adobe

    I reckon Unity wouldn't make this for us.
    Can anybody make something like a plug-in?
    They even just made Individual "Speed" field for Animator on Unity5.x!

    I'm following a tutorial which uses the animator, but having two screens open at once makes the animator screen very narrow and zoomed in. I ended up back here through Google because I was trying to find how to zoom out so I can get a better overview, how is zooming in/out not implemented yet?

    I'd like to see this feature too. I'm trying to figure out how I'd go about making a plugin to do it myself... but I don't think access to editing how the actual animator window is available. Only way I can imagine doing it would be to create an entire new animator window from scratch using EditorWindow and then.. once the entire system is rebuilt, you can implement the feature in your new custom Animator lol

    I know it's not the same, but in the meantime, you can click on "maximize" (top-right corner) and the animator will cover the whole screen. Then "minimize" to go back to normal".

    I would like to be able to zoom-in and out as well, but this kind of works as a workaround for certain situations.

    Hey I just noticed shader forge can zoom out, I would have thought it was using the same basic foundations...
    Maybe not, but it would be awesome to be able to zoom in this view. I have a crazy spaghetti tree going on and it's super hard to try and see what's going on, especially when you are trying to diagnose transitions.

    Ok, this is unbelievable. I'm trying to create an American Sign Language dictionary using animations for over 4,000 words. I mean, is there any way we could actually vote for something like that to be implemented because my project is absolutely undoable without a zoom out function. Please Unity? ^_^

    Unity, please listen to the users, we want a zoom out/in feature for the animator windows. Please implement this feature ASAP.

    I know that this is an old thread, but just in case...

    Alt + Right Click allows to Zoom In/Out in the Animator Window.

    They finally added it. How long did that take? About 6 years from the time this thread started. Which means probably about 8 years since Unity adopted the Mecanim animation system as a feature.......can't remember exactly the year they adopted it, but we're looking at closer to 10 years than not to add a zoom feature to the window :confused:

    I really like Unity but they clearly have no focus on animation and it's a constant hinderance to my work.

    When I see a post about how Unity are using machine learning to help animation, I should be excited, but how can I be when the the basic stuff barely works?

    I really feel Unity have given up on Mecanim now because all the talk I hear is about playables, but that is years off so we just have to deal with a horribly inflexible, broken tool for the foreseeable future.

    Are you using a Wacom? If so I it’s option right button drag.

    Some ugly tricks.
    - With the animator window active, press A on the keyboard, it will zoom to frame all the state machine.
    - Select the nodes and transitions you want to zoom in (by frame dragging or shift key) then press F key, the Animator window will frame the selected nodes.
    To paning:
    - Alt+ padDrag (DoubleClic on the PAD, not releasing the last clic, and drag)
    - Alt+ ClicPad an drag (this one is like YOGA for fingers :) )

    A zoom button should be great, but until Unity do it :(

    Someone upload them to YouTube for god's sake and just use Firefox's Picture on Picture feature with a forced always on top. Lol, 2013.
