    About Zombie Office

Developed in Unity, Zombie Office is an old school top down 2D RPG set in an office where the staff are mysteriously being turned into zombies.

Rather than having an easy first day watching Health and Safety videos and getting your picture taken for your I.D. badge, you are given the task of discovering why the staff are turning into zombies and stopping the infection from spreading further. Because newbies get all the best tasks.

The player's epic journey will take him through many different departments; Accounts, Marketing, the Canteen on a quest to halt the zombie infection.

You’re not alone in this quest as you’ll have the help of your faithful project manager who’ll be there to get you out of a tight spot and to keep asking you how long things will take.

There’s lots of Easter eggs and choices with consequences. Various types of ammo which will allow for different strategies when battling the zombie horde.

There’s also many pickups including: coffee - if the player drinks coffee they get a burst of speed 30 seconds or a minute (until the caffeine wears off). Herbal tea increases the players composure for a time - reducing the amount of stress they receive from zombie attacks. There’s no health stat in this game - just stress - if the stress becomes too much it’s game over.

Weapons in the game are items found in the office that the player can throw at zombies: paper balls, dvds, paper clips, stress balls etc. There are also explosive mines, repellent mines, gas mines, wooden spike traps and time bombs. The player can also interact with the environment e.g. move chairs, view sign posts, read sticky notes, lock and unlock security barriers etc.

There's also a shop system using office vending machines where you can buy and sell equipment, ammo and consumable items and a crafting system using recycling machines where you can recycle your unwanted items into cool and probably more useful items.

    Development

Zombie Office was Greenlit on Steam in July and since then I’ve been focusing my efforts on developing a rock solid structure for the game. Refining gameplay and extensive refactoring. These efforts I now present as a very early demo. Although still very much a work-in-progress this provides a sample of gameplay and also a rock-solid foundation for me to build the next levels and create the story and quests.

This game looks really cool. I like that its not your typical zombie game and I hope you can make this into a mobile game soon.

Hi, thanks for the feedback - yes most certainly mobile versions are planned. I've tested it out on an Android tablet and it works (almost) seamlessly - just a few adjustments required to the UI. The UI at the moment is done using NGUI but I plan to switch over to the new Unity UI in the new year.
