    Hi everyone,

I've just launched my first game on the Google Play Store!

It's a relaxed singleplayer puzzle game where you bump cubes into the ocean.

    Google Play Link:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Yprac.Zink

The game is built on Unity 2021.3.9f1 and uses just a few assets.
    • Shapes 4.1.1 to draw and animate lines on the board.
    • Vector Graphics 2.0 in order to use SVG in UI elements.
    • iTween to handle some of the animations.

I've wanted to design an algorithm that makes and ranks puzzles based on complexity for a long time. It evaluates millions of board states, prunes and sorts based on heuristics, and makes a uniform selection across the set. I'm very happy with the puzzles it produces, many I would never have come up with myself.

The game runs stable at 30fps, I render at 55% resolution and use FXAA to help with jaggies. No postprocessing or real-time shadows.

The hardest part for me has been the visuals, I'm pretty happy with the aesthetic but thematically it is a bit weak.

I'd love to have your feedback, if you have any questions I will do my best to answer them below

Your game sounds intriguing! I really appreciate the effort you put into designing an algorithm that generates and ranks puzzles based on complexity.

Congratulations on launching your first game, Zink, on the Google Play Store! It sounds like a really interesting and unique puzzle game. I'm always on the lookout for new mobile games to try, and yours definitely caught my attention.
I'm a big fan of puzzle games myself, whether it's solving intricate jigsaw puzzles or tackling brain-teasing challenges. By the way, have you ever tried a 1000 piece puzzle? I recently ordered one online, and let me tell you, it's both exciting and a bit overwhelming at the same time. But I love the sense of accomplishment when all the pieces finally come together.
