    Good morning,

This may be a silly question, but how can you tell that the music you're purchasing to use in your game will be safe from copyright claims on platforms like YouTube? On AudioJungle, this is clearly marked on each product, but I'm not seeing anything on the products in the Unity Store. The last thing that I want is for a content creator to upload a playthrough and their video get a claim against it.

It’s up to the publisher to state if they’ve registered their music with content ID or not. In my opinion, I don’t think that using it is appropriate for stock music in games, for the exact reason that you mentioned, and I believe that most other composers on here probably don’t use it either.

But, that said, because there’s no way to know, your best bet is to ask the publisher whose work you’re interested in. I get asked about this all the time so I have a dedicated article about it here: https://johnleonardfrench.com/youtube-policy/

    hope that helps.

If you're a bit worried about this, and it's understandable, then the safer option will be, to do like what some other indies are doing right now, and spend some time, learning to make your own music osts and soundtracks. I'm actually doing a few, for a game project I'm working on these days. It can be tiring sometimes, but definitely worth it. I almost finished two of them.
