    Only if she put it on the Refrigerator :p

    When you mention incomplete games, I don't know if making a miniature zork was the first for me. Pre-middleschool, I got my hands on flash because of a family friend who convinced my mom it was a good idea to expose her child to computers at the age of 4 or 5. I don't recall what version of flash it was, but the code had to be written inside the frames lol.

    I drew a block with 2 lowercase T's coming out of it (le spaceship) and I wrote code to make it move left and right when you pressed the arrow keys. My first 'program' ever was a game :D

    Speaking of all of these games, is anyone going to participate in Ludum Dare this weekend?

    "Your mom likes your game!" An odd turn of events, where a mom joke is both warranted, and not insulting.

    I was wondering when Gigi would show up. Glad he did it with style, too.

    @Gigiwoo: first game?

    Are you sure? Mine might be an anomaly. I'd been a project engineer (ie, producer/tech lead/manager) for 3D visualization for years. Writing articles, focusing on the tech, and releasing open source game engines. Then, one day, we got a major contract to build a Navy training game. As project engineer, it was the first time I would truly wear the game designer hat. I applied everything I had learned, researched like a fiend, and tested my ideas to death. And, we ended up with the Damage Control Trainer. It won 3 national awards. It's now a standard part of every recruits training - 40,000 per year.

    Looking back, I can't believe how little I knew, while at the same time, knowing enough to design something truly worthwhile. My first solo, Indy projects were much different - and you've all heard those stories anyway.
