    Hey guys,

I am doing a bit of research and was wondering what great pixel games you have played.

    Retro or modern!

Shadow of the Beast 1, sort of. For the time it was groundbreaking.

I didn't get Chrono Trigger until the PSX era, though it was quite an epic game. Never played Alundra, though.

I also missed a few others!

    Metroid
    Super Metroid
Ys III (yeah, the weird side-scrolling one)

Alundra is very much like A Link To The Past in style of gameplay. You go into peoples nightmares though, as parts of your quest. "Dungeons" I guess you would say. It's a PSX game. Loved every bit of it. Look into it.

Faxanadu and Master Blaster are amazing NES titles also.

All old SNES RPG's like Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, Chronotrigger. Actraiser is also very charming.

And all on Asvarduols list. Everything new just doesn't have the same impact on me since these old games will always be the games that made me like games.

It's OK, the game practically is pixel art. (Well, voxels, but still. It can be used to recreate pixel art. Whatever. I'll just send some Shriekers after you later.)

Seiken Densetsu 3 is said to have some of the best pixel art work of all time. I haven't played through it entirely but it is very beautiful.

Also I don't know if you would count it, but donkey kong country 1 and 2 are also very detailed, even though they are technically 3d renders converted to pixel sprites.

i have the entire meatboy sprite collection becasue i wanted to study the frame by frame, but its a mix. Some stuff is clearly pixelart'ish, and some is not. Im not sure what to call it, its Edmunds very unique take on pixelart, thats for sure:p One of the reasons its such a great game!
