I'm really curious to see the desk where you use Unity the most.

    This is mine ...

LOL @ that fidget spinner though!

My desk is a huge mess as well, but I'll play!

************So my dropbox images doesn't work anymore. It doesn't let me delete them from the post either. I'll attach the files directly. Note that there are only 2 images, not 4.

My setup is just my laptop so the scenery changes a lot! On the train, in a coffee bar, in bed, on a regular desk,...

Eww.... could try cleaning it? Then post a photo when it's sparkling.

I need a desk. Working from a 11" laptop sucks. And its an old one which gets hot and burns my fingers. =( Poor me.

Can't be doing with more than one screen though. Don't like to turn my head. :) Easier to have virtual screens. Multiple screens = vanity not sanity that's my motto. In the future my "desk" will be a VR headset.

    I want @Damien-Delmarle 's desk!

Mine is surrounded by everything that ends up my desk, which means everything from a broken necklace one of the girls want me to fix, the latest catalog that comes in the mail that they think I might want, a package of gluten free fig newton bars that I do not want anyone else to eat, and various other bits and pieces of things.

Before the bigger monitor, my desk followed the law of superposition, meaning older stuff on the bottom...a geology term. lol Now it is not so bad...yet.

It was a personal passion project that unfortunately couldn’t get a final greenlight due to our agreement with ea, but I still work on it for fun from time to time. http://zombiegorilla.tumblr.com/post/165102057117

Glad to see I'm not the only one who opted for the budget end of racing chairs. Mine was a spur of the moment because my previous chair had completely fallen apart (hate designs where the back is held on by the armrests) but it's held up surprisingly well and it's more comfortable than I was expecting considering I'm just barely six feet tall.

I moved from the expensive chairs that don't really last any longer to more reasonable chairs that last the same but I can buy them more often to refresh the chair.

I didn’t actually shop around or compare (probably should have). I came across it at frys, fell in love with it and took it home.

Speaking of chairs, I got a DXRacer King. It was a bit pricey at about 500$ but after 1 year and 6 months it's still holding good. It's a pretty good feeling when you can sit confortable at your desk and your back/ass doesn't hurt. :D

There's so many displays here on show in this thread that at times it does feel like viewing the bridge of the Enterprise!

its nice having smaller ones to the left and right for reference material, or for just watching a video or stream. But i like to keep any work that requires focus on the center display, i have both Unity and my IDE on the center one on separate virtual desktops. Problem is multi platform dev, which is why I have the surface on my desk as well as the iPad.

I also feel like if all 3 screens where the 27inch 5k displays it would require turning your head way too much.

I just have the single display - a large comfortable dell with the concept that if I manage windows well I don't need separate displays. So I tend to snap visual studio vertically on the right side of the screen (so it takes up 50% and is portrait aspect) and have unity + other stuff on the left. I've done this sort of thing for at least 5 years now. I am probably missing out though.

If it wasnt so expensive I might buy tv screens, put fancy ornate, golden frames around them and hang them on the walls like paintings, set to auto change their picture every once in a while.

I'd be interested in photos from Deus Ex themed room conversions that don't require painting the walls in a dark color.

Only one I've ever found was this:
    https://kotaku.com/deus-ex-bedroom-is-a-human-sleeping-revolution-479048140

I really want ikea to launch a line of sci-fi themed furniture designs at one point.

What is this desk thing you speak of?

I code on the couch with the laptop on my knees. If I'm feeling really energetic, I slide the paintings, sewing machines and camera rigs to one side of the dining room table. When you cram four creatives into a single house, flat space becomes a premium.

Ahh Good subject, My setup has evolved over the years I started with one “wide screen” 2560 x 1080 with the idea of a full 1080p window and little window on the side for search etc.
    then I bought another one
    and finally a 2k 2560 x 1440
It sort of works but windows 10 gets confused sometimes with the difference in height when dragging between them.

I guess you never get it just how you want.

Damn I should have cleaned my desk before taking the picture…

    OK let me explain:
I am not Irish someone bought me a coffee cup with an irish theme
There is a tissue on my desk because I have a cold
That is not a makeup case it’s a nail care kit
There is a tape measure on my desk not because I’m feeling inadequate it’s so I can visualize the size of things I buy on ebay
The nail file is there because I sit and file my nails all day
I have an xbox 360 kinect for facecap and a xbox one kinect for motion cap
My desk is dirty because its old and I’m a scruff

I like how Roy's desk doesn't face a wall. Mine doesn't either and to my side, I can see the great outdoors (it's important IMHO)

Will I have to clean my desk for this, and is it too meta to show my desk at Unity?

I agree, I have a 6 foot sliding glass door off to my right. Far enough to not mess with my screen.
Every 1.5 hours I get up and stretch my legs, walk to the front and back windows to watch the crazy squirrels.
In the last week I've also seen 5 deer and 2 flying squirrels. Never seen the flying kind before.

Bits of trash here and there cause this is where I live (I am conveniently hiding the rest of the trash under the table).

I got a Cintiq mounted on an Ergotron monitor arm (super useful when drawing), and I use it as a regular additional monitor when I'm not doing art.
