Game Name: Keep talking and no one explodes. Well imagine you find a bomb, and you are being talked through by your friends who have the manual. Seems like this would be a hella cool drinking game with a bunch of people.

There's also a playthrough involving Jesse Cox and TotalBiscuit...

You know, this should be a game design thread - Try This Game!

We put up a game we've come to like (or horribly dislike) and give design reasons why. It's a good exercise!

Why not start doing it right away? "Keep talking and no one explodes" seems to be one of the few games (the only one I know at least) that makes verbal communication between two people the primary game mechanic. Unlike other games that need verbal communication to improve play performance but still can be played and won without talking (Counterstrike etc.), this one absolutely needs people to communicate. The theme and the timer mechanic adds drama and suspense and the complexity of the bombs and the manual creates a good challenge. At least that's my best guess without having played it or having watched a lets play. But I fully intend to pick this up one day and try it out myself. I just don't want to spoil it for me like I did with papers please (which I ended up not liking at all).

Lovers in a dangerous spacetime, which also happens to have a video done by TB, but this time it's about ruining his marriage.

Totally forgot about that one even though I had watched the video ^^. Artemis (the spaceship bridge simulator game) would be another good example that I remember now.

Keep talking and nobody explodes? o_O
    Wow! :D
From the sound of it, it sounds like something that might fit in well, in a Fallout or Borderlands type game. ;)

Sounds a bit like what my brother and I would do when one of us was playing Morrowind, due to the lack of objective markers (or even a compass) - one would be walking, fighting, etc., and the other would be checking a map and giving directions.

Granted, we were in the same room, but sending it over a walkie-talkie or something similar would have been fun...

Okay how about this the game seems like a really concept, i havent seen anything like it before combining gamers and non-gamers in a meaningful way, do you think this could work with other games.

So maybe you had a game where your killing a variety of monsters, and you are using a monster rolodex (your describing the monsters to the non-players who have to research it and see what they were weak against), but doesnt seem like it would have the same impact.

So I played this last night with my girlfriend. Lots of fun. Totally suggest it, especially if you have a significant other that you play games with.

Oddly, the game I would compare it to the most is actually pictionary.

I played a dozen games with some friends and it's incredibly fun. I have to try this one in a skype multi-call :)

I have another game similar to this (never played though) called Artemis, where the players take control of a spaceship ala Star Trek and each player has in his screen one "console", but only the polayer being the Captain has a picture of the whole scene.
