What is the latest situation to build games for these platforms? do i have to buy addon from Unity?

is it easy to publish indie games to these platforms? is it required to be a company?

You apply through Microsoft. Microsoft can explain whether you need to be a company with a history of game development, or an indy getting started. (I think the plan was that anyone with a console could use it as a devkit. But I haven't seen any news about that for ages.)

Hi Graham, do you mean Microsoft will give everything to build a game for XBOX? i understand, i don't need anything from Unity.

Yes, I think Microsoft will give you what you need. You really need to ask them, though.

For Xbox One, there is a program called ID@XBOX:

However, they're currently looking only for experienced indie game developers as stated on their website:

without having developer account, i cannot improve my skills on console :) no chicken, no egg :) it looks first i must publish a good game for other platforms. first project cannot progress parallel.

The dropped the whole consumer box as a dev kit a while ago. Rumour has it, it's because the online-always aspect was dropped, taking all the relevant rights management with it.

I wouldn't read too much in what it says on their website, it's not always up to date. In other words, email them and ask... can't hurt :)

You don't need console experience. You do need to have actually you know, finished something good though (on any platform). IMHO a very wise restriction in today's age.

Look at this as an opportunity to finish a great game.
