    WTF happened to the videos???

    http://blogs.unity3d.com/2012/04/02/london-unity-usergroup-10/

And has the LUUG* stopped doing videos?

As they were a great resource for the community IMHO, actually I think the UUG* videos from any group by developers for developers are great resources.

    *UUG - Unity User Group.
    *LUUG - London ...

LUUG has still been going every month. In fact, I gave a talk there 2 weeks ago. :)

Different people organise it now but they don't have the equipment to record it every month.

Edit: Also, the title of this thread is misleading. You could have probably chosen a more accurate summary of your thoughts. ;)

It's almost a 3 years old page and the video links probably expired or changed embedding format/rules. Nothing new in the Internet.

Is that something Unity could consider helping them out with, should be easy enough to loan/gift a video camera to UUG's and upload their talks to the site. Free content and publicity?!

Well sort of. Unity doesn't have an office in London so its a bit tricky to drop off/pick up camera equipment whenever. I would do it myself but I can't always attend LUUG because I sometimes have other commitments in the 48 other countries in Europe. ;) But whenever I do get a chance to attend LUUG in the future, ill be sure to take a camera and record and upload it!

Well, its not really free when you factor in train costs in the UK. ;)

If you know the guys who set it up you can probably arrange to let them hire a camera, and cheaper than a train ticket.

What equipment is required other than a cheap video camera?

No one even has a DSLR? Even the cheap ones do good video nowadays.

You seriously underestimate the cost of camera rental in London. :) we would probably need a decent-ish camera to record the presenter/screen and a decent mic too. Otherwise if it came out with poor quality video and fuzzy audio you would probably make a thread to complain about it. :D

Anyway, I'll talk to the organiser and see what sort of arrangement/logistics we can come to.
