Wireless Dualshock 4 not working on Mac

Wired, the controller works fine (screenshot from input debugger below).


But over bluetooth, the controller only seems to pick up a few inputs. Notably, only one stick.


Struggling to find information on this on the forums or elsewhere online. Anyone have any success navigating this issue?

 

I had the good fortune of randomly running across https://forum.unity.com/threads/solved-new-input-system-not-listening-to-right-thumb-stick.872863/. The solution for the off brand gamepad seems to work for the wireless Dualshock controller—basically rebuilding the right stick as a 2D vector composite.
