【WIP】Witchscroll

    Update 20141227

    It looks like this is the lastest update in 2014. here is a screenshot show the scene i just get it done.
    note: the horse-knight only act as a placeholder for test, and it will be replaced with the main character, and more enemy will also be added there. they are chasing/be chasing.

    now, this is the first scene of level2, and i'm going to create the next scene-------gaint snake swamp.

    When I first looked at the concept work I was like bleh, but then I seen the screens and was like nice! Keep going man, you look like you are doing well!

    Hi all. I'm "bbsbot",the creator of this game.

    Update 20150117

    the process is slow than i planed,but it still moving, just like before.
    I was intend to make the level2 a big scene. but i found it's too big. after some redesign, some contents move to level3.
    now level2 is consist of "riding on wildness"==>"swamp"==>"cave"==>"high land"==>"deep in forest"==>"old ruin"==>"elven base"
    riding on wildness was done
    swamp and cave are under constructions.
    high land is waiting to be work with. the concept art is out alpha2 stage.
    deep in forest is shaped in my mind, but havn't drawing it.
    old ruin is allready being formed in my mind several times, a bird like temple in cliff ? a big statue looking building near river? .....havn't decide.
    elven base is passed concept art alpha1 stage.
    I hope half of above may be done before this month end.

    I know it still looks rough, but it get better and better.

    wow great work, love how you use pen and paper to do concept art. It does looks very ambitious though, I working all by yourself?

    about level2
    the developing of this game going slow, ideas came out of my mind every week, some concepts have been remade again and again.level2 is 3x bigger than level1.
    I have to split it to 3 scenes, 1 is "riding on wildness", 2 is "swamp+cave+highland+forest+ruin", 3 is "elven base".

    Yes! level3, is also a big map, it consist of "red canyon city"+"desert"+"old ruin village"+"stone woods"+...
    the concept art of the "old ruin village" is drawing.

    Hi , I'm back.

    more details about plot have been write, the plot of level1+level2 in final stage.
    2
    level2 has been redesigned again, concept art have been re-draw.
    the snake swamp [about the concept art i post in 201412] has been canceled.
    deep forest has been redesigned as a running scene.
    a new place called "old camp" has been add.
    elven's base renamed as "new camp" and redesigned.
    now, level2 consist of 8 scenes.
    [riding and chasing]+[butcher hill]+[old camp]+[snake temple ruin]+[highland]+[deep forest]+[elven's eye]+[new camp]
    today I bring you the concept art of butcher hill ,drew by myself with pen and paper.

    the plot done! I writed it in a txt file, it's finished.
    this is a big move. it take me 2 years to write it, finally it's done.

    this game is consist of 3 chapters, most scenes in chapter1 was done.

    UPDATE 20151120

    the developing going well. still making scenes. the north part of the town in chapter1 was done.
    here are screenshots
    1, player enter this place by go along sewer, climb up out of a well somewhere in the sewer.

    3, this is one end of sewer,in this shot, the door is blocked, player need jump, jump to the top of these box, then get out of this place throuth that window.

    Wow, this looks beautiful! I really like the sense of depth, there seems to be a lot in the background so it feels more open and 3D

    thank you all. really glad to see someone like my indie game.

    UPDATE 20151225

    during this month, i'm adding dialogs and basic ui to my game. here is an roughly alpha main menu.

    this game will intergrat 2 languages support, english and chinese. when player press the 'e/c' button in the upper-right corner, the game will switch to chinese. and when player press the '中/英' buttion in chinese menu, the game will switch to english.

    hei ! long time to see you all !
    more than 2 months passed since last update, you wonder what's going on this project?
    here is the news:
    1
    I decide to use playmaker. it truly speed up the development.
    during 201601-201603, i made the combat systerm and player controll, and enemy ai. yes, it's done.
    both player and enemys have combo attack, and can dodge, parry, counterattack, block....
    2
    allready start making scenes of level2.

    more concept art, it may looks rough, but it's my drawing and my sweet dream.

    I just upload a 5min video to youtube.

    it show 5min gameplay in a farm village.
    you may see how the player moving and combat with enemy.

    i really liked the scenes outside in the wild with the grasses and rocks and trees and how the lighting was soft and brought life to the scenes in the small village , also i like how you diversify the look from one area to another such that theres something new to see , i have one small dislike though .

    those grass roofs , i think needs something in regards to shape , to make them look a bit less "flat / corner-like" , a softer edge angle gradient for the grass roof geometry , looks a tad to "hard" on the edges .

    the develping is going well. more and more contents been add to the game.
    this is a 14min video of a side quest about explore a tomb.
