    What is it?

VR Flight Simulator is a personal project I have been working for about 7 months. This is the very first time I decide to share some information and images to the public. To get to the point, VR Flight Simulator is a simple and realistic Flight Simulator designed to work with Oculus Rift in combination with the LeapMotion controller. (if you don’t know what that is ,check here https://www.leapmotion.com/).

The user-pilot is able to control an aircraft by manipulating buttons and switches in a cockpit of a real passenger jet, with his own hands, in real-time. As a result, the user is highly immersed in the interactive virtual cockpit environment.

    What can you do?
You are able to perform all necessary and basic operations from start-up, to take-off and landing. Specifically, the simulator starts by placing you inside the cockpit of the aircraft parked at an airport gate. Then you can press/move the appropriate switches with your hands to turn on the cockpit systems, start the engines and more. Once the aircraft is started and the engines are running, you can taxi to the runway , apply thrust by controlling the thrust levers and take-off. Once airborne, the aircraft can be either flown manually (keyboard/joystick) or by activating the AutoPilot. You are in complete control of the aircraft at any given time.

Last but not least, you can switch between the cabing and the cockpit at any time by a press of a button, to enjoy the view outside the windows of the passenger cabin.
