WIP Small Works Game / Programming Thread

    I doubt anyone will see this but I just started unity a few months and finally decided to actually join the community
    I've made a simple arcade jumping 2D game but I don't know how to upload it to the forums. Can I get some help pls?

    You can take screenshots and upload them as pictures, or build your game, zip it and host it on something like Dropbox, with a link here. If you can host a WebGL build on your website, that's easier as people can play it in their browser.

    Seconding putting it on itch.io. It's far more reliable than dropbox for long-term game hosting.

    I've been working on a VR horror project inspired by the skinwalker mythos, and franchises like The X-Files, Resident Evil and Silent Hill.     Using the stay at home lockdown to finally get my in-game path drawing system working. for some reason this was the toughest thing to get my head wrapped around, but I think it all worked out.

    I say this with the nicest of intentions.

    You desperately need to rework your trailer.

    It’s not good.

    The sound just cuts in and out, I promise you absolutely no one has read that scrolling text.

    Go use a formula if you have to, but that trailer is honestly working against you.

    The go to formula is:
    1) Loud noises and or music with some sort of attention grabbing setup.

    2) Vague nonspecific story telling, preferably in voice over.

    3) Something threatening and scary as the music build.

    4) collage of flashy stuff.

    5) music and sound goes all quiet.

    6) mysterious thing.

    7) Title

    8) Loud noises again and climax the music.

    9) Black. Quiet.

    10) Additional info, like release date.

    Hail to everyone, here is a video showing what I have got so far, for a game I am putting together:



    It is a 2D-Real-Time-Strategy/Tactics-Action game, where the Player will be able to control a squad a soldiers to complete a series of objectives.

    It has a simple pixel-based art style (created by myself), with a focus on mechanics over graphics.

    There is one Enemy in game at the moment (the Plasma turret) and the Player Character, whom can move horizontally, jump, crouch and has 7 different weapons (with respective sound effects).

    Please let me know if you want to know any further details of this project and/or what you think of it so far. I would really appreciate some feedback.

    playing with AI Parking Lots As you build lots, vehicles spawn and find a random empty slot to park in, then head out around the roundabout. They are on a timer for now before leaving, but eventually they will spawn people who enter the park.No colliders yet,..not sure if I care. :p

    This is my first go at really putting something together from scratch and for the first time in years - buckling down and learning some c#. Presenting my adventure controller! Still have some bugs here and there, but squashing more and more every day (as well as adding new ones with each added feature). Archery is next on the list, then Kombat!

    I'm not very familiar with this genre but these minigames tightly embedded into gameplay looks fresh to me. But beware of using them a lot. If you played the MMO called 'Atlas' you could see that developers did similar minigame for gun reloading and most of players seems hate it as it becomes annoying very quickly.

    Oh, I had started this project a few years back, but never finished it. I didn't wanna go through the hassle of upgrading just yet, as I've had that experience before. I wanna just finish this one and move on ^_^
