That's quality stuff dzodzu ! Excellent and very natural mesh. Great texturing and shading !
Only the very hard low res shadow doesn't do it any justice.

@DzoDzu, great looking head model so far.
    @ FishMan92, great work!

Thank you sir! Since this is a train type level Im trying to go for a more rough look with the snow. Snow is a theme all throughout this game and there will be snow in every level but im trying to make snow give a different vibe in each level that matches more with the other elements of the level.

great new painting by the way!

    Heres todays dev screen shot.

So throughout this level the train stops at these various different stops where the player gets off at to do some stuff.

I was suppose to be finished with this level by now but I got a bit lazy since yesterday but now Im back to working :)

Cool stuff nickavv. You might want to consider darkening the planet a tad, it took me a while to work out that your character has legs because they are blending into the background too much. I would shrink the titles and put them in the bottom right hand corner but that is more a matter of personal preference.

Hey Guys, here is a quick flare gun i've recently been working on. Pretty hard to find some nice references so some parts might be inaccurate, but for the most part i think its pretty good :) Still needs its glorious gloss and proper spec maps.

So, I bought ProBuilder today, and started working on some little tests to see what I could do with it (I love it.)

This is the results of one of my experiments, based on my current project. Life is so much easier with a tablet, and the GIMP!

Quick mock up of a game idea, needs a lot of work, especially the characters haha - but i'm liking it so far.

@Asvarduil, I can't see what you have there. Screens or webplayer, nothing is showing?

Looks great Ben! Unique prop to use in game to. I can't really recall any game that used a flair gun before.

Edit: Repost this for you since it was the last thing on the previous page.
Now I see it Asvarduil. Looken good. I do see some seams though. But nice work so far.

Yeah, and I don't know what to do about it. Even with a single directional light in the scene, I have a hard time getting meshes made in ProBuilder to shade well under light. I was looking for a setting to tell the meshes generated with ProBuilder to do something like Gourad shading so that my edges are softened, but so far no luck.

@Florian, Yeah, the shadows are just horrible in Unity. And they are getting worse and worse..
    @snowconesolid, Thanks man :)
@dogzerx2 Thank you, sure I will :) By the way I bought Your warrior especially for the controller. You did a really nice job there :D

Hmmm.. that's strange.. I tried on two different pc's and it runs without any problem.. it just loaded forever tho..
Maybe the browser corrupted the file. Try to download these two files, put them in same folder and run the html locally:

Thanks, means a lot. I can also see it improving, which is very motivational.

I've just ordered a graphics tablet finally, so soon these should be improved- once I've learned to use it. Practice practice!

Yes, tablet is a MUST HAVE tool for the artist. Whatever you use, or is that a Photoshop, Gimp, ZBrush, Mudbox or even Blender it puts the quality of the work to the whole new level.

Looks great. I really dig the design of both characters.

Though, I would smooth out the AO. There are some visible AO artifacts.

Well, this is going to look kind of like a repeat. I came on here to post this house I was working on, only to find dzodzu's house XD
Anyway, here it is, my WIP old house. Created with the fabulous Blender3d. Textures thanks to texturer.com, and Unity, and my camera.

@mcunha98, thats one of my favorite models you have posted yet. Great work. keep it up.

@dzodzu great house model. Webplayer crashed on me but the model looks great from the screenshot. nice job.

@Stopsecret, you too, also great house model. I dont know if its just me, but in some areas of your house model the wood texture looks weird or off and other areas it look good. I mean in some areas the wood texture looks to large, larger than other areas of the model. I might be seeing things though. Good work.

@Stopsecret; Haha, you beat me there, that totally reminded me how much work is still before me..
@snowconesolid; Thanks. I probably made the lights and camera effects setup way too heavy.. it performs badly on my gtx 560ti..

Thank you, your kind words means a lot :D
And I love your controller. I have much work to do with the animations yet..
The SSS is the pre-integrated skin shader, it has not only amazing sss but also specular options, if I could I would put it on everything, lol..

I've been recently doing allot of tests in unity, one being playing around with lightmapping. Some you may remember this image from one of my first posts here.

    Very, Very Old:

    $Thing-in-UnityWEB.jpg

While, after a few tries and some light adjustments I got a really nice result. Too bad the lightmapping process cut out all the specular and bump from my meshes. Other wise I think it would look way awesomer. However I've heard that this was fixed in unity 4 (I'm still stick in unity 3.5), but I'm not sure if thats true or not. Anyway, here it is.........

    LightMapped Result:

    $ThingLightMappedUnity3v2WEB.jpg

BY, the way this might not be a big deal, by I thought it was at least worth sharing. Also do you guys think it would make a good game? This at first was just a test scene but I'm really starting to like the way this looks.

haha awesome! Your bad guy turned out so good. Reminds me of the corrupt warden from the shawshank redemption.
And Iv seen your hero character a bunch of times already but I can't get over how cool he is. What a cool character.

I love your work so much!

Edit: Do you hand paint the skin textures? I mean for like face and hands? Really nice.

Thanks guys ! And Eliza :)

    he's done !

They are half rendered, half painted. I use a AO pass as a base and multiply colors on top.
The dark areas are a bit brighter and reddish to fake a soft sss look.

I've sculpted them in Mudbox with the cut brush. With a good blend between negative an positive cuts you can easily create sharp, edgy hair.

Here are some textures...Once I have all characters, I should color tweak them towards a more constant look.
Right now I'm switching between realistic creepy demon creatures, bots and environments, which makes it a bit tricky to switch back to toon style and colors
They all share the same basemesh, topology and UV Layout...because I'm lazy :D

Really nicely done, Florian. Looks like you are putting a lot of work to normal maps ;) I can't even tell what's in geometry what's not.. just wow!

EDIT: the diffuse maps are badass too! Are you painting them entirely in Mudbox?

@EpicLilg; way to go :) I can only suggest to pay a bit of attention on that roll of sleeve. Put some extra loop or two otherwise the texture will stretch as hell right on the elbow..
@clearrose ; not bad at all. I would add a bit more detail to geometry on floor and walls, They are looking a bit flat; if you are not aiming for mobile of course.. That alien animal looks awesome. And yes Unity 4 fixed the specular issue with light maps.

    Thank you dzodzu !

    It's just 3700Tris so its probably all normals/diffuse :)
Mudbox2014 seems to be very buggy when it comes to painting. Its even hard to draw a straight line without artifacts or missing pixels. Even if the resoltion should allow it. I still try to use it for a quick messy color test or blending seams. The rest is PS or like the noise and pattern on his jacket, a 3dsMax Render Pass.

@Blacklight - Dude you inspired me to make my breakable blocks and bedrock less ugly. And, I think I succeeded.

I also made the Heart Runes in my game less ugly while I was at it.
