    I created this prop for my personal project. The goal was a slightly futuristic japanese vending machine. Instead of physical buttons, it projects the price tag-buttons directly onto the transparent showcase-display.

    Thanks to this, my RPG will soon be in its first playable state! Here's what appears for each character during a battle. I'll only make the rightmost work to start with so the player can finally attack an enemy in battle. Just a set of simple, hopefully self-explanatory icons for a simple but easy to use UI design.

    Also I really hate UI coding.

    Well here is a short 45second animated video created in Unity.

    The video isn't perfect and the voice over is slightly out of sync (something I will work on improving in future animations), the video is very short, and animations could be better. There is a lot of room for improvement. This is just a first test run of me attempting to dive into the world of YouTube. With that said, I really like how it all turned out and I plan doing a lot more short YouTube skits as well as re-use the character for many game projects in the future for years to come.
    But, you can definitely use Unity for YouTube content creation/animation videos.



    For those of you interested, I wrote up a complete making of article on my developer blog that discusses my entire workflow and creation process. Everything from the character modeling to animating the cutscene in unity and then rendering out a video. I also have a complete list of all the tools I used.

    Not going to post link since i'm not sure if that violates forum rules, and I don't want to seem spammy. But you can view it on my blog, plus I already have a link to my dev blog in my signature.

    On a side note, I found a really fast workflow, using Zbrush, Blender and Photoshop to make procedural textures. I should mention I don't own or use Substance Designer! I made some pretty basic mud with stones, it's pretty raw but it works very well. I'll include those in the update.







    ... and put together a fast test scene with GI and post processing. Everything is rendered in Unity!

    Reworking a scene originally planned for a drifting game that never got the see the light of day.

    So now it is just a scene for the sake of not wasting my time I put into it. I will redo the doors, textures are temp etc.

    Hi guys i haven't been here for mouths, but I do plan on trying to be active again in unity and start making my own projects again. I have a few ideas i just got to pick one :) . Well, anyways heres a sketch for now :)

    continuing to build house/room scene.
    Built in a closet and did more texture work. Will prob re-texture walls again.
    Retextured carpet. Playing around with it. Green or purple?





    I'll probably also completely re-texture my character model with actual textures like the rest of the scene. Right now, he is just all solid colors, so he doesn't fit the rest of the environment. I'll rework that later on.

    Added a reflective mirror, re-textured room walls and floor, created furniture set.
    It's all coming along nicely! Still need to make more furniture, add more little props around like pictures and other little decor stuff, model in doorways, etc.

    Now have transparent glass windows in game.
    I am extremely impressed with the unity standard shader. You really can use it for just about any type of material.

    Working on a knight 'statue' for my throne room. It's supposed to just be standing holding its sword, but I gave rigging it up properly a go just in case I want to use it for anything else. UVs and textures next! It's been a couple of years since I last did anything like this, so I need the practice.

    I envy your texturing mr fishman. It's beautiful!

    My scene is turning out really good. Very happy with it. On the topic of texturing, that is one of my biggest focuses this time around. Good textures along with getting proper materials for objects, lighting and atmosphere.

    Still putting my stuff in the free pack. Won't be much, just a few cliffs and rocks and some spruce trees. I'm almost done, will just add a tile texture and I'll upload it as soon as I can, then I'll make updates later.



    The models are almost identical to the high quality version, only lower polygon count for the mesh. I just baked the texture map from one mesh to the other.

    Hey guys, was told I should post some stuff here!

    This is a very small speed build, it was a busy week so I decided to go for something very minimalist and then tried to flair it up using some tilt shift effects! This project was supposed to get me a bit more comfortable with the terrain tool, and although I would of liked spending more time around the water the rest has come out ok.
