Games [WIP] Return Fire remake

For fun, I've started to work on a remake of a classic game called Return Fire.



I'm sure a lot of you have played it and remember seeing the game in the movie In the Army Now with Pauly Shore. I am taking on the task just as a learning and overall just for fun experience, but also to satisfy my urge to create something again.

Here is a video showing what I've done so far, I have downloaded some free assets from the store and plan to use what i can that requires a skill level beyond my own, but will add a lot of my own knowledge of Unity to the project. I'll be uploading more progress videos as it comes together!

 

Today I've been working to improve switching vehicles and re-spawning if you run into the water. Flag resets to it's original building if you're carrying it when you take a dive and you get sent back to the hatch. Made some adjustments and limitations when trying to acquire the flag such as not being able to pick it up while waiting on switch timer as well not allowing the player to switch vehicles while holding the flag. Also made some squash-able tents allowing you run them over with a vehicle or shoot them. Walls and more buildings to come.

Any updates on this? I was about to work on the same sort of thing as practice.

 

I loved that game.

 

Cool classic game, to play with with 2 on one PC. I mean original.
I was thinking to make its remake, but never went that route.

But here, unfortunately project seams dead, as well as video is down.

Poster also haven not logged in since January 2018.

 

That's a shame. I played it on the 3DO. Hopefully someone else will work on an updated version.

 

I never cold make RF work on 64 bit PC
I tried multiple times in past, even with emulators.
