    CAUTION : FALLING TANKS

Caution: Falling Tanks is our first try at a Unity game, or any game to be publicly available for that matter. This is a local 2 to 4 player free-for-all versus game, where each player commands a tank with the objective of throwing other players out of the playing area.

Each tank is equipped with unique weapons, which can deal damage and push other players aside. The damage acts as a multiplier of the force dealt by an incoming projectile, so basically, the greater the damage, the further your tank will be pushed when hit.

This is intended to be a free standalone and web-based game, if possible. For now network multiplayer is not in our roadmap, but might be added in the future. As of this release, the game has 6 tanks, 3 game modes and 2 fully-playable levels.

This is a pre-alpha release, so expect bugs, unbalanced gameplay, crappy placeholder everything, computers bursting into flames and choppy framerate. If you wish to try it out, you can download the stand-alone version from these mirrors:

    Gameplay :

This game was conceived to be played with gamepads, so keyboard and mouse support is limited. Due to the generic nature of our gamepads, button and axis rebinding will probably be required by means of the game launcher. As this version of the game has no in-game instructions, here are some basic instructions for how it works, and how to play it:

    Menu Navigation and controls:
Left Analog : Menu navigation (menu) / Tank body control (in game)
Right Analog : Tak turret control (in game)
    A : Accept (menu)
    B : Cancel (menu)
Right Bumper : Accept (menu) / Primary fire (in game)
Left Bumper : Cancel (menu) / Secondary fire (in game)
Start : Activate or Deactivate a player (tank selection menu) / pause menu (in game)

    Game modes:
Time Attack : Match lasts for a preset amount of time. At the end of the match, the player with the least deaths wins. Players respawn indefinitely.

Lives : Players have a limited number of respawns. The last player alive wins.

Skirmish : Plays for a preset number of rounds. Players do not respawn between rounds and the last player alive wins the round. The player that wins the most rounds wins.

    Tanks:
    Whimsy
    Uses an energy bar.
Primary Fire: Expends a portion of his energy bar and shoots a projectile with damage, size and speed proportional to the energy spent.
Secondary Fire: Fills the energy bar and teleports the tank to a location occupied by the tank 2 seconds ago.

    Shuriken
Secondary weapon charges on primary weapon hit.
Primary Fire: Shoots a bouncing bullet. Damage and secondary charge increases with each bounce.
Secondary Fire: Shoots bouncing bullets in all directions. Amount of bullets increases with secondary charge.
Secondary Fire (again): Commands all secondary bullets to converge on the tanks location.

    Technobot
    Primary Fire: wind-up machinegun
    Secondary Fire: High recoil shotgun

    Longbow
Missiles follow the tracker placed by the secondary fire.
    Primary Fire: fires missiles
    Secondary Fire: fires a tracker

    Demolisher
    Toggles between 2 modes
Primary Fire (mg mode): fires a light machine gun
Primary Fire (cannon mode): fires a cannon
    Secondary Fire: toggle modes.

    (Demolisher in both modes)

    Broadside
Has no turret. Side weapons have limited angle. Turret analog controls which side is firing.
Primary Fire: Fires a side shot. If it hits, refunds the bullet plus an additional bullet.
    Secondary Fire: Drops a mine.

Feel free to download it and try it out. We know we have a lot to improve, so any kind of feedback on the game will be highly appreciated!

The name's cool, no need to change that.

    Updating to Unity 5 :).

Some materials and shaders broke and the scenes look weird. Might need to update them.
