Custom Province Borders aims to create borders for your provinces on your terrain. You put in the colormap of your provinces like this...

and it will give you an output like this...

it will then create a projection on your terrain to give your provinces borders.

The code will also help you fill borders if you made a colormap like this.

I have seen many people ask about making province borders but have not seen any actual assets or answers so I thought I would make my own. Right now I am working on making the borders look better and making the conversion process more UI friendly. Before I released it I also wanted some feedback on the asset, is it worth selling? How do the borders look? What other features would you like in the asset? If you have any questions please ask!

If you also include a way to make the regions interactable, I'm sold.

    Hey,

I think this project is a neat idea however I am a bit lost as too the purpose. If you have to enter in a color map to create the borders, then you already have technically created a border map, you just have to outline and remove the colors, fairly simple procedure in GIMP or Photoshop. I don't want to down sell or dissuade others. However, I am just curious why someone should choose to use this, what is the purpose if you have to design a color map of the borders anyway. I am not sure how you are calculating it onto the terrain and if the shape of the terrain matters, so that part does interest me. Keep up the good work, it does look good, just the purpose kinda left me. :]

How would you want them to interact?

I am not very skilled with GIMP or Photoshop, I just use paint.net for its simplicity. Is there a specific tool in GIMP that can do what my program does? I just downloaded GIMP and the stroke feature is nice for making borders, but you would have to magic wand every province and then do the stroke which would be fine for games with 10-20 provinces, but would be a nightmare if there was 150+ provinces like in the image I was showing.

The program also work in reverse, you could make the province borders, color in each section with a paint bucket on an image processing program, then delete the province borders (like this), and then use this program to fill in the gaps to create an accurate color map. Not sure if that is useful...
    Thank you for the feedback.
