Hi guys, this is a wip game i'm doing by myself. Modeling, levels, textures, sound effects, programming (and it shows...) only thing i didn't do is the music and the typeface. Oh and a shadow plugin. For Android and iOS.
It's just another roll-a-ball game, but since i'm most probably dumb i wrote my own control scripts and after some months i noticed that there is a roll a ball tutorial...

In any case, the game has a hub like world for the stage select, options and mini tutorial area (so that it won't hold your hand while in the actual levels). It's made out of 4 worlds each divided into 7 levels with 1 extra small "transition" level used to show the change in level themes.

The aim is to gather all the coins (3 to 5) while avoiding traps and if you find all 3 secret pickups (accessible after doing something in the level containing it) then you'll unlock an extra level. (hopefully it'll end up being world instead of just a level). My aim is to have levels that don't take long to finish (the first ones are under a minute, with the later ones going for about 3 or 4 minutes.)
Also, i'm trying to have a much varied levels as possible. I tried to make them as different as possible, without making extra abilities for the ball. Don't want to clutter the screen with buttons. Just a jump and ground pound ability that are used in different ways like press a button or hit the brakes if the player overshoot a jump.

Aaaand I guess it's clear which era of platformers this game took inspiration from :D

*Edit* forgot to mention. Level texture is usually 1 1024*1024, with a smaller 512*512 one that is used for things that appear in all the levels.

How long do you estimate until you'll be finished? The game reminds a lot of Super Monkey Ball and Super Mario Galaxy :) Although I find your level design just as creative!

@Afilion Thanks! Those are some really nice games.
Estimate or not, i have to finish it in a few months. The rest of the levels and then Play services/ Gamecenter integration.

    Looks cool.
Are you prototyping the levels and puzzles on paper?
    How? :)
I'd have to dedicate some brain matter for puzzle development - to create something like this.

    Nice work!

    Thanks :)
Yeah i got a bunch of graph paper and first i doodled some ideas down on paper and put some notes on what to be careful about. (Like if something will need to be in sync with something else).
Then i sort of run the sequence in my head for a bit. Of course that means that those beta testing it will call up and say something like "I pressed the downward slam buttons 50 times like a machine gun when against this wall and it went through."
And i'll be like "whyyyy did you do that! who would do that!"
    "obviously, i did".

Nope, i haven't stopped working on the game, nor is it on hiatus.
I'm just waiting for bugs to be resolved and doing some meshes and textures in the meantime.
