First, I'd like to apologize if this is in the wrong section of the forums.

Secondly, I'm extremely new to Unity, 3d modeling, and anything related to the field. To me, it's all new. I have no coding back ground or experience with this type of software.

However, I am very interested in increasing my knowledge, and experience using Unity 5.

After toying around with Unity for a week, I purchased the Winter Pack from the asset store, published by K4 to bring into Unity and get some experience with the basics. I haven't been able to use this package in "Game Mode."

Anything with a 'script' attached to it seems to have continuous errors. Water, Character Cameras, and even pushing play do not work.

Does anyone have any experience with resolving these issues, or have any suggestions please?

Here is an example screen shot of what I am experiencing.

    Thanks!

Contact the publisher with the issues. We can't do much about it.

They obviously haven't made it Unity 5 ready.

Yeah I read somewhere Michael is working to update his packages for 5 but it will take a while. He has a lot of them.

They are just post effects for the demo scene, delete them from standard assets under whatever kit you've bought. I'd actually prefer it if asset store publishers wouldn't put standard scripts in directories. You always get the latest versions that work from Unity..

Thank you for the responses. I will try deleting the demo scenes and see if that resolves some issues. I will also keep an eye for a Unity 5 build.

When importing old projects, I follow this procedure:

    • Import the default unity packages (effects, environment, characters, particle systems)
    • Import the new package from the asset store.
    • Deselect all of the standard assets so the old ones don't import
    • Click OK to import everything
This usually solves about 99% of issues

But then noobs complain and moan that things don't work because they don't have the standard assets imported in their project.

Lol, can't win can ya. Although I'd hazard a guess if you don't know how to drop a post effect on a camera, then these asset packs aren't going to do much for ya anyway.
