Wings 3D is the most easy, but the most terrible modelling software i ever seen.

I love how easy i make models in wings 3D. That is the first 3D modelling program that i used, i tried other programs like 3ds max but i just give up because it is so hard there, and i can't understand the interface. I also tried google scetchup but same thing, those "good quality" softwares just suck for me. Here is my first try of making a good quality car.

Okay i think you see it, but if you don't i marked it for you.

    1. If the model is only 2 faces object, it shows transparent lines that are not fixable even in hardness->hard.
    2. You can connect the 2 objects only in face mode, but since my hood is only has 2 faces and it only upside and downside there is no way to connect it. I'm trying to say that the hood has only 2 faces, up, and down. But to connect my hood to the bumper, i need middle face - i don't have any.

Look, this is the way i want to connect my hood to the bumper, but when i press connect nothing happens. I am not surprised for i don't see any good quality cars made with wings 3D.... this program totally sucks. The only thing i like in that program is that it has extremely easy interface. I instantly understand everything. :( Why other modelling softwares were not as simple as wings 3D?

Also, if you model the car only in 1 side and then try to mirror it, it will look like S*** trust me...

I honestly think you don't know what you are doing there. Not to say that wings is great( I prefer Blender), but you have some issues there that aren't the fault of the program. See how many verts you have on the hood, and see how many you have on the bumper. It can't directly connect those because there aren't the same number. Also, it looks like you are trying to create just an "edge" when you have only the two verts selected and are clicking connect. Wings, due to being simple, may not allow just creating edge like other programs do. Try selecting all 4 verts to make a quad. It may or may not fix the problem. But in any case, you are going to have to learn the software.

Final solution, learn Blender. It is free, relatively easy(though not extremely easy), and it works great. It does many things that Wings can't do, like anything that is animation. The mirror modifier works great too unless you do something wrong with it. And Blender lets you create just edges, which you can later make faces with, if that is how you want to do it. You can create just verts if you want to, though it probably isn't the best workflow.

Only reading this makes me think that you never used wings 3D...

Here as you said there must be enough edges, so that they can connect. Okay... i pressed the button and guess what? Still nothing. And don't worry i already made faces for the hood and connected them to the bumper and here is what happen.

It also fixed my problem with the transparent lines. Of course that i made faces f*ucks the quality of the model a lite bit, but there is no other way. And you are right about blender, it is better program than wings. I had a friend who used blender and showed me awesome models. And NO bro, the mirror doesnt work fine if you use it on something very detailed. It will do for stuff like duplicating ect... but here is what happen to one of my tries to make a car.

OK, so you are right in that I haven't used Wings myself, rather I'm going by the screenshots. Question, how is it that you have been able to make faces, but then are not able to make faces after....what is the difference between the two times you are trying? You say that you making faces f*cks the models up, but I'm not understanding the problem. You have to make faces to make a model, either automatic via some tool or manually, but there have to be faces or it isn't much of a model. But now that you have things connected, couldn't you move things around so they look better. As long as all the things are connected you should be fine, but if you have things where you have verts like the first screenies where you have more on one side than the other, than things aren't going to work right until you adjust that first.

About the mirror, I was talking about Blender's mirror, not Wings' mirror. One thing that appears to be wrong with your mirror is that somehow it isn't making the verts merge on the border. I don't know if Wings just can't do that or if there is some setting(like maybe called clipping or merge or similar) that would do it for you. Blender's mirror works well as long as you do it right though. The other issues I'm seeing that make things look bad are what appears to be smoothing settings/normals. Is there some sort of way to see the normals. Example, the front where the headlights goes, I see what appears to be a single quad but it looks like some sort of gradient going to black on the right(left of the car, right of the picture). Then on the next quad it is fully lit again. That is usually a problem with normals from what I've seen. The mirror may be the cause of this too, I don't really know.
