Windows Phone 8.1 universal app - random crash on start

    Application crash at the start, when i deploy it for Windows Phone 8.1 app unversal. It runs only time to time, totaly random. I have a unity 5.0.4f and visual studio 2013 update 4. The project which i build does not matter, error occurs even on plain just created project. In response to the crash editor returns me an error:

    Did someone already had a similar problem? ;) I would add that the clean deploy to "Windows Phone 8.0" or other platform works correctly, and such errors do not occur. Build even just pure project for "Unversal Windows Phone 8.1 App" case above problems. I have no idea what's going on and please help :(

    Strangely when deploy with VS works every time, but when it is unplugged is clean randomness. Something is not right .. I check at work on other WP phones, because I have only Lumia 1520 (8.1.1) right now. For now, i made a game for "wp.8.0", may in the future this bug will be fixed. I see someone on the forum is have the same problem.

    If it crashes without debugger attached, phone will automatically create a full memory dump file in Documents\Debug folder. You can transfer that to your PC, open it with Visual Studio and see exactly where it crashed.

    sc1.jpg I cant locate UnityPlayer_WP81_arm.pdb. Crash is the same as the picture in UnityPlayer.dll.

    Let me investigate if I can get you the PDB - looks like they were excluded from 5.0 installers by mistake.

    I also have this bug on Lumia 1520 8.1 , but when i test on my wife 1020 8.1 there is no problem :( maybe its something with 1520's drivers, the game starts after second or third time.

    I have the same problem, using Nokia 930, once deployed to the phone the game starts randomly. If I run the app the first time and exit, I cannot start the app immediately again, have to wait more than a minute sometimes to start the app again. Could a garbage collection issue with the windows phone platform after exit of the app.

    Once the game is exited the first time you have to try restart it 3-10 times before it runs again. Deployed to the store but the same thing, works if deployed from VS to the device.

    Do you have stacktrace/dump file of the crash?

    There is something going on with location capabilities detection or initiation.
    My project has no capabilities turned on at all.
    Unity Version: 5.0.1p4
    Phone: Lumia 930
    OS: 8.10.15116.125

    Thanks for the crash dump, it helps. Probably the easiest workaround from your side would be to comment out the body of "SetupLocationService()" method in App.xaml.cs.

    I don't why it's happening at this moment, but we will get to the root of it.

    Actually just to report, after building universal app 8.1 and turning "Independent Input Sources" and setting Default Orientation to Portrait somewhat fixed the start crashes at least for now.
