    Hi everyone!

As part of our efforts to improve the performance of Cloud Build, we’re beginning the process of shifting our Windows and Android builders to Google Cloud infrastructure. This will enable Windows IL2CPP and lower queue times for your builds. Given the scalability of this infrastructure, we anticipate faster build times as well in the near future.

We are aware many of you are heads down in development, so in an effort to minimize the disruption to your workflow, starting Wednesday, July 7, 2021 you will see a toggle to turn off these builders and return to the old ones in your Cloud Build Config window in the “Advanced Options” section (see image below) should you encounter any errors with them. We will only switch over to the new builders on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 so you will have some time to decide if you want to preemptively turn them off.

As we collect data across all of our users, we’ll eventually turn off this button and default all Windows and Android builds to GCP infrastructure. We’ll notify you well in advance before we turn off this switch.

If you have any questions, please ask in the Forum and if you are encountering any issues, feel free to submit a Support ticket.

    Thanks!
    Unity Cloud Build Team

We are switching to the new builders tomorrow (July 14)!

An additional note: due to Library caching in the Unity Editor (which leads to caches not transferring to the new GCP builders), all of your first Windows/Android builds marked for the new builders will need to recreate the Library folder as of tomorrow. After your first build, normal builds will run as before.
