    Hello people

Granted I only have the personal license, but after having installed Win10 (upgrade from Win8.1) I can't get Unity to run.

I've tried running it in compability mode, but regardless I get a "Checking license" window that goes on forever. The window "flashes" every now and then for the "Checking license"-subwindow to reveal a blue "Next" button. I've managed to click it a few times. The window they displays the same flashing issue where Ive been able to select "Personal edition" and then "Accept license", but the next "flashing window" doesnt seem to reveal anything and I can't proceed.

Ive tried doing the offline manual registration, but to no avail. For some reason, I can't write (?!) to the license file I downloaded even though I've set the windows folder containing the file to non-write protected.

    Uhm...help?

I've noticed this only seems to affect those who upgraded but didn't follow up with a system wipe. My method upgrading to Windows 10 was to run their updater, extract the key once it was finished (tool linked below), and freshly install the OS to a wiped drive with the key.

If you prefer not to wipe everything then you could try simply deleting everything related to Unity. The folder with the license, the folder under Program Files, the folders under %appdata%, etc.

I cloned my HD to an SSD and Unity told me it detected HW changes do I want to try reactivation and so I did. Since it was Unity Free it wasn't a hassle.

Thanks for your answers! I finally managed to solve it; on the first "hidden" page of the sub-window that would reveal itself once in a while, there was also a button to "Re-activate". Run Unity as administrator and they try to click "Re-active" when the button/window appears. That will do the trick.

    *Phew*

Glad to hear. I have a dual screen (laptop & a monitor) and with Windows 10 I've also sometimes have a problem with the confirmation dialogue not popping up on the screen so you can allow or deny the dialogue. I only notice when I look on the task bar for it and if it's not SW I'm familiar with how would I now to look for the dialogue at all?

    Microsoft needs to fix that.
