    Hi,
I am collaborating with multiple people and the lightmaps are huge, we don't want to add the lightmaps to the Git repo. So we want to bake the lightmaps on our own systems.
If we bake the lightmaps of the exact same project using the exact same settings, will the result look the same? Will different machines produce different results?

I understand there are other options that Git, but for not we are sticking with Git.

Well yes if the project is the same and the settings are exactly the same then the lightmaps will be the same,
But at the end somebody is going to have to have all the lightmaps to build the project.
Just as a fyi we run our own git server and havent had a problem commiting lightmapts

There may be some nuance but otherwise the same. The main difference is that CPU lightmapping is more accurate than GPU lightmapping.

So CPU and GPU lightmaps will look different because of accuracy, even on the same system?
We are working with GPU lightmaps as they are so much quicker to generate.

It's certainly possible yeah, the degree of difference might be nuanced but my guess is it could vary a lot based on scene complexity to how much of a difference it could make. I've never particularly made a comparison

Not sure if it was ever fixed but if you used generated UVs they would unwrap differently depending on CPU / platform.
