Why isn't there a Mac platform forum?

Developing for OSX has a whole bunch of issues that are specific to that platform. And I'm currently battling a (submitted) bug on OSX where keyboard input is broken. But there is nowhere for me to discuss this with other Mac developers.

Yeah, I've been waiting for that 5.2.2 patch to come out hoping that it would fix it, but its still there for us unfortunately :(.

It appears to be a slightly different issue, which is similar to the one featured in these two bug reports (we also can't get cursor key movement working):

    http://issuetracker.unity3d.com/iss...eys-do-not-change-caret-position-in-osx-build
    http://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues/inputfield-ignores-arrow-keys-on-osx-builds

It's particularly annoying because the issue wasn't spotted by our QA department, so the bug is now present in a production build. So I have lots of annoyed players and not many options apart from rolling back to Unity 4.6!

The Mac/Windows platforms are the default, and can be posted in editor/general support. (The "Windows" subforum is for WP8/Windows store stuff, which is different and separate from standard Windows desktop publishing.)

Sure, but the problem is that there are a huge number of issues that are completely unique to mac development, such as code signing, mac app store submission and IAPs, as well as plenty of bugs that are specific to the platform.

It seems crazy to me that Samsung smart TV would get its own board, but not mac. Anything specific to mac development just gets completely swallowed up in the editor/general support board.

+ Agreed, there should be a forum for this also or a Apple forum with sub-forums (iOS,Mac,Watch)
Same with the Samsung stuff (Tizen and TV). Forum can be made bit more tidy.

There are much less developers for Mac OS X. Not to mention, it's hard to find a OSX developer job in my local city.

I can't imagine why that is the case. Maybe mac had a better window toolkit when unity 1.x was being conceived?

This doesn't necessarily mean there are more developers on OS X though. ;)

Unity was originally an engine intended for the company only.

Good timing, @Aurore , my system just prompted me to install osx el capitan and I'm sure not everyone is going to decline that. That forum seems like the right place for the complaints bound to come over the next few weeks :D

The shinys are not in yet :-(

Also now we have "Services: In-App Purchases (IAP) Advanced Integration"

Can we have a separate forum, discussion area for this, because otherwise thing it all get lost over multiple platforms.

it also be nice to have a locked thread (like patch) in the announcements for yourself and Holly to update each time there forum change, so people know of the new sections added and where to post, just to make things easier.

    Thanks

There should be an official forum for making requests.

It would be helpful to add the OS X forum to the description of the platforms subforum on the main page of the Unity forums like it is done for any other platform. I guess I am not the only one who always clicks on the tiny links on the front page only. Without this thread I would have never discovered the OS X forum. I just saw it for the first time.
