    Hello fellow devs-

So recently I have been trying to change the icon of one of my games. I do this in project settings>icons. I select an image from when it prompts me to, and then the project settings shows the image as the icon. But when I build and run, the icon is not there; it's just the default icon for my device. I am REALLY confused. Does anyone here know about how to fix this? I am not finding very good documentation.

I have already tried using different images for the icon. The issue always persists.

What platform are you building for? Where exactly in the settings did you set the icon? If this is Android for example you may have to set multiple different resolution versions of your icon.

Various versions of Windows Explorer have also cached this icon... try building it to a different directory and executable name like FooBar.Exe and see if the icon is correct.

And what happened when you reimported all and built it with a different name?

I haven't tried that yet. You mean reimporting the icon files and renaming the project, yes?

No, I just mean building it somewhere else, like instead of GAME1.APP make it GAME2.APP, go look at the icon.

There's just so many quick quick quick things you can do to eliminate possible sources of caching and misunderstanding. Reimport all is another one. Copying the entire contents of Assets to a fresh empty project is another.

These are things you should keep front-of-brain. Unity is a complex beast running your complex project on a complex piece of hardware with ten billion settings. Wiggle them all. Find what's broken.
