Why forum administrators assume that with a TOS update the Unity users cant talk about this in the forum?

That topic was about the issue with the tos change and the improbable situation. That issue has been resolved and no one was talking about it there anymore. This was explained in the closing posts.

That thread was solely about the Improbable situation. People discussed it and Unity Technologies eventually stepped in and changed the respective TOS paragraph to something more acceptable for everyone. Everyone was happy and moved on.

What else is there left to say, in your opinion?

There is no issue. There was discussion, the discussion was left open to discuss an important topic. The topic was resolved, everyone had a chance to provide feedback and then unity responded. After that for the last several pages the topic was wildly off topic, and we left it open despite that until Unity responded and held an AMA. (way beyond the threshold of a normal topic)

If you have additional feedback, you can respond in the blog post, or if the new terms confuse you, you can contact unity support. As this forum is primarily for usage and game development, and the issue no longer exists, there isn't a need to continue that thread as it was completely off topic. Off topic threads get shut down.

Sigh, nothing is being ‘censured’. (Though I think you mean censored, but that didn’t happen either for obvious reasons). The topic was done. It was derailed and off topic completely, when this happenes threads are closed. It is in the rules, and it happens all the time. It was also off topic in general but because of its importance was allowed and kept open.

This is not a general chit-chat forum, it is to discuss and support game development and general usage of unity. Not politics, not random grumbling, not cats, not the law. When threads go off the rails or don’t serve the above purpose the are closed.
