Why does Unity not care enough about Unity Answers to fix it?

It's the most broken Q&A thing I've ever come across.

Yet, for something as byzantine, arbitrary and bureaucratic to operate as Unity, it's essential.

And Q&A technology isn't expensive, is widely tested and a well worn path...

But answers.unity.com is like something from the graveyard of web 1.0 internetery.

You question is without eloquence, but I've thought about this before. While it is a needed area, hiring people and staff to fill permanent positions in that area would be something I personally wouldn't see viable.

There are off-the-shelf systems for this, and it doesn't need to be anything other than contract work...

And, as stated, it's NEEDED for something like Unity.

As to your comments about eloquence, speak for yourself.

I always speak for myself. It clearly isn't needed, I'm pretty sure Unity is going to go public soon or something(Do it). If Unity used "off the shelf systems", whatever the hell you even mean since this product would be actual human beings that answer questions, it would make it appear cheap. Something which you clearly aren't getting for some reason. Say whatever makes you feel better, but from up here it looks like you're whining. At least I'm on my feet, you're on your back like a child. Wrap your analog brain around that.

Edit: Maybe you can visualize for me whatever alternative you're thinking up? What off the shelf system exactly are you trying to use as leverage here?

It's not needed for something like Unity. The forums serve every practical purpose that Answers does.

A much shorter list is of those that suck more than whatever Unity is currently using, which is also an off-the-shelf system. Just a very bad one, that's also not been maintained.

Ok. I can see how this might be humorous.

I literally have used answers maybe five times. It's a mess of a site and has been since they changed the format years ago, breaking all the code formatting. I have had nothing but luck with the forums.

This. There is no real reason for answers to coexist with the forums.

Expect answers to hang around for a few years like UnityScript. There will be some half heated attempts to revive it. Over time it will continue to accumulate poor usability. Eventually they will give up and close it down.

Answers could be good. The forums are good. And there is no need for two solutions to the one problem.

Answers might not work very well, but the forums do not do a great job either. Useful answers can be stuck hundreds of comments deep into a thread. It's not a practical way to display solutions to problems.

It's a community things, nobody hangs into answers, there is site with the same format and useability that works just great, but it seems people coming to unity don't stick to answers.

Answers used to be tolerable, with a few hiccups. After the update it just turned into some weird tag and alert ridden irritant that you had to fumble through for an hour to get anywhere. The only time I use it is when google links directly to some answer from 3 years ago, then it gets closed and I go on with my day.

As far as I'm concerned, it's an archive.
