Bug Why can I not log into Asset Store from Unity?

When I try to open the Package Manager, I am asked to log in, which is odd, as I am already logged in (as indicated by the TL in the upper left). I am also logged in via the Hub.

Worse, my proper username/password that log me in to the website with no problem fail to placate this hateful little pop-up. When I enter them, it presents itself again with the unhelpful message "Failed Communication".

Can someone spare me from two weeks idle time (present wait for Asset Store support!) and help me work around this glaring bug?
