Why are the aim zones (soft/hard) offset from the look at target?

I have my look at target to be the center of a star. I can see this as the yellow box in the game view and it is in the correct spot. However the "zones" provided by the Aim section of the vcam are not centered on this like I would expect.

I'm sure I'm either doing something wrong or misunderstanding something fundamental here but I'm not sure what it is.

Does the position of the guides change when you change the aspect ratio of the game view?

Yes, it's a regression in 2.3.4. It's fixed for the upcoming version. Ignore the on-screen guides. Trust the inspector.

You can use the on-screen guides if you adjust the aspect ratio until they look right, but be aware that they can be misleading if you then mess with the aspect.
