Search Unity

White screen or missing / incomplete interface. Please Help

    Hi, when loading a tutorial project, Unity is displaying an all white screen with menu at the top. If I minimize and then maximize the Unity application, the interface partially appears, but there are some sections of the interface that are missing.

    Bottom of Unity screen reads: Assertion failed on expression: 'SUCCEEDED(hr)'.

    I have tried opening different tutorials, uninstalling and reinstalling Unity, switching from dedicated GPU to integrated graphics. All of these have the same result.

    Does anyone know what might be going wrong and how I can fix it?

    Unity: 2018.2.19f1
    Windows 10

    System Info:

    Acer Aspire R5-571TG
    Intel i7-7500U @2.70 GHz 2.90 GHz
    RAM 12 GB
    NVIDIA GeForce 940MX

    Windows 10 and all drivers are up to date.

    Some people have mentioned possible similar behavior with VPN enabled, and also mention of Citrix workstation causing issues.

    Thank you! Turns out it was an issue with NordVPN. It doesn't have a problem with the client running but if the VPN is on when I open the editor, the screen is white. Temporarily, I can just turn off the VPN but is there a fix to this?
