    Hi,

I am a professional worker using Unity Pro, and a few dll plugins (great!).
I would like to know which win7 multi touch tablet gave you :
    - good experience
    - bad experience
so that I select a good one.
Targeted applications are mostly 3D viewers of motors (RealTime 3D, not CAD). I would like to use some tiny shaders of my own (depth, transparency, slice) + 1 or 0 light, but I don't need any advanced stuff.

    Do you got any advice?

    Best regards,

    Pierre

Over a year ago I used an ExoPC tablet, however the biggest bottleneck was the GPU (but for your purposes it should be fine). Other than that I had no real problems. It was a good experience of having a full OS and whatever people tell you, Win7 is NOT that bad for touch. Adivce; Make sure it supports multiple touch points, it depends on the touch-screen firmwares.

In terms of hardware, I heard good things about the ASUS tablet but in general the market didn't really gave much in terms of Win7 tablets. Things are heating up fast though and with Win8 coming soon/Ivy Bridge; there are indications of a Q3/Q4 tabletgalore if you excuse my phrasing.

Because the projects we are working on involve serious-games for training, the touch-dependant interface of a tablet can easily become more of a problem than a bonus. There is something we have been keeping an eye on; that is the Project Fiona from Razer.

There are few current-gen Atom-based tablets coming out right now so keep an eye on them. I do not recommend buying last year models now.

    Best of luck!

I've got the Samsung Series 7 (with Win 8, but they normally come with Win 7).

The Unity Experience is pretty good - the screen is large, it has a dual core I5, and 4GB RAM, plus a 64GB SSD (though you can get it with a 128gb SSD, I believe). In addition, it has a MicroSD slot so you can add more drive storage. I've got Visual Studio, Unity3D, and some other apps installed, and have plenty of space for several projects and notes, etc. It is multi-touch, but it also has a standard (wacom) pen, so you can be exact as well. It's very nice. It uses Intel integrated Graphics, but they're actually a lot better than they used to be, it actually works really good for Unity Dev, though it wouldn't be great for Crysis 2 or something like that.

Only drawback is that it is kind of pricey - around $1000, but it's really powerful.
