Which program to use so that the 2d animation export/import to Unity is simpler ?

First of all hi guys.


I got a question for you. Does anyone use character animator from adobe, for animations in unity? https://www.adobe.com/products/character-animator.html
And if so, in what way do you pack the sprites, sprite packer?




I got an animator applying for the job, but he never worked in the industry. So he knows how to animate through character animator, but has no clue about exporting it to unity.
The only option I found in the CC animator was export as PNG+WAV files. Should i go through that route or ask him to learn another program. If so, which one?

(What program outside of unity do you suggest for 2d animations. So that the export and import to unity is easier.)
