Which framerate settings should be chosen for animations for an Oculus Rift Game?

    Hello Unity Community,

    I'm quite new to game production and currently working in the 3d-Team for a game production at university.
    We are working on an action game with oculus rift support and we are aiming at keeping the framerate above 75 FPS ingame.
    When animating in Maya or After Effects we have to choose a certain span of frames for our animations and as the FPS are not locked in our game we are not quite sure which amount of FPS to choose for our animations - can anyone help us out?

    Is there a specific reason why we should use 30 FPS?

    I am not sure where LaneFox is coming from on this one, basically all the information I have seen so far on VR target frame rates puts 60 as minimum frame rate for combating motion sickness.

    Many of the newer techniques and techs try to sort of re-project old frames to blur between them and simulate higher frame rates, but you still want 60 if you can possibly hit it.

    EDIT - I did not read the original question in it's entirety, forgive me. 30 as an animating frame rate is great, go for it. :) Sorry LaneFox!
