My Unity User Reporting package in the Package Manager is still at the Preview-Version 0.2.4 from 2019. Have there really been no updates? Or am I supposed to get it from somewhere else?

I would like to know why it is not available in the package manager but as an offline zip that you need to extract and then import the package, I can't find it in the package manager in Unity 2021.3.4f1.

In addition, I would love to have it reside in its own asmdef as almost every other Unity package is. I know I can quickly add this myself, but these are just additional steps that need to be done which could be prevented by default.

What I have found so far:
    1) You can type the "com.unity.cloud.userreporting" package name when you use the "Add package from git URL" option in the Package Manager (see https://forum.unity.com/threads/visibility-changes-for-preview-packages-in-2020-1.910880/)
    2) You can dowload the SDK from the following link: https://userreporting.cloud.unity3d.com/api/userreporting/sdk. It is referenced by https://unitytech.github.io/clouddiagnostics/userreporting/UnityCloudDiagnosticsSettingUp.html

I have yet to experiments with the packages but I feel like the difficulty of finding the SDKs give you an hint that "User Reporting" isn't a priority for Unity.

Same problem... I'm thinking about switching to Backtrace io.

    It is old version.

    Hi folks,

Thank you for your patience on this, and apologies for the conflicting information that seems to be available presently.

It does seem like the documentation (at docs.unity.com) has gone live ahead of the actual planned change in this case. Currently, the correct method to get the User Reporting SDK is still the direct download method. Links to the SDK can be found within the Editor (Windows > General > Services > Cloud Diagnostics), the Unity Dashboard under the About section for Cloud Diagnostics, and the documentation on the GitHub page here (as mentioned above).

Thank you for bringing up the issue.

Do you have a timeline when the new version is going live?

User reporting is undergoing some updates, and we will be able to share more information soon. We will release an updated SDK through the package manager, and updated documentation, so please bear with us for a little more!

    Thank you for the update.

I hope the upcoming SDK is going to work out of the box on mobile platforms. Please see https://forum.unity.com/threads/user-reporting-not-working-from-mobile.1118752/

Unity just announced the all new cloud diagnostics advanced package: https://blog.unity.com/technology/unity-sauce-labs-launch-cloud-diagnostics-advanced

Starting price is $600 per user in mobile, increasing to $900 if you target mobile and desktop and if you want even more platforms like console, you pay $1200.

Doesn't sound like any updates coming to the standard one... Hope I am wrong, but it seriously doesn't look well...

Can we just finally get some news on the state of the free one, now that the advanced is out for over a month?

@UnityPeterD Can you please share a few pieces of information? What happened with @FabriR , last seen Oct 19, 2022?

    Up. Any news @UnityPeterD ? @FabriR ?
The whole UCD advanced is worrying us.

If Unity wants to force its user base to pay more for the basic version of the feature while introducing a more complete one, It's shady but I don't really care, people will choose to keep and pay or go for another solution. If the basic is totally abandonned, so be it too.

But please, do not let us in the dark for months or years, this is typical Unity Communication way for years now and it needs to change.

Right now, we're with a memory-leaking version of a basic feature that should be stable, we do not have options to revert to a cleaner version, and we're missing clear and effective answers from Unity, this is not ok.

Also, the whole project settings > services > CD > sdk link sends to https://userreporting.cloud.unity3d.com/api/userreporting/sdk, which is a broken page...
Anyway, as said above, the said sdk, when obtained with more traditional links, is faulty with memory leak so...

    Thank you for your help.

No activity, nothing. That's how you lose trust. There is so much good stuff going on (like the friends list feature), but certain packages are left in the dust in the progress, sad.

Hi everyone - thank you for your patience!

The updated User Reporting SDK is now available in Unity 2022.2.4f1 (see the very bottom of: https://unity.com/releases/editor/whats-new/2022.2.4#release-notes) and is on the way for upcoming 2022.1 and 2023.2 releases.

I encourage you to try it and share your feedback.

If you would like to migrate an existing project from the old SDK to the new one then please start with: https://docs.unity.com/cloud-diagnostics/en/manual/UserReporting/SDKMigrationGuide

@Falondrian @MiTschMR @Immu, my sincere apologies for the lack of response (I've made some changes that should help with that in the future). As @es-unity mentioned the new SDK is now available for 2022.2.4f1 (and soon for additional Unity versions).

Regarding Cloud DIagnostics Advanced (powered by Backtrace), we do indeed have a separate offering for the service now (you can compare the two here), but we are continuing to support the existing service without any changes.
