Where are my Assets Store assets stored ?

I have the impression that if I import in a project assets from the Asset Store and later delete the project, those assets will anyway remain in my hard disk, shrinking its free space. Consequentely I have doubts if I should continue to use the asset store piling up gigabytes of assets that in most cases I no longer want / need. Any suggestion ? My ideal situation would be to dowload assets ONLY inside.my current project.

 

Downloaded Asset Store assets are located in these locations:

• Windows:

  C:\Users\accountName\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store-5.x

  
  (or %AppData%\Unity\Asset Store-5.x)
• macOS:

  ~/Library/Unity/Asset Store-5.x

• Linux:

  ~/.local/share/unity3d/Asset Store

 

You can move the asset store to any location or any hard disk you wish and make a Hard Link on a Windows Machine.
