Seems to work for me on a Mac running Unity 4.6.0. I guess you are using a PC?

The strings in the Inspector are meant to be Unicode. Maybe when you type Korean characters you are entering in an encoding format other than Unicode?

I don't have enough Korean knowledge to be able to read the Windows menu settings. If you type some Korean into a text editor, save the file as unicode, and the copy-paste from that file into the Inspector, does that work?

Yes I tested firstly write on windows default notepad, and then paste to unity, works.

But I remember at past(maybe version 3.5~ era) , unity received direct input.

@Graham Dunnett I'm resurrecting this thread as I'm having the same problem of displaying Korean characters in the inspector on Windows 10.

I think the Unity Editor font doesn't include the Korean characters on Windows, whereas it has no problems displaying other languages like Chinese, Japanese, Russian, etc. In this thread you discovered that other languages like Georgian are not able to be displayed in the editor on Windows as well.

Would it be possible to include some sort of support for these languages in the editor on Windows in the future? Is that what the entry "Editor: Localization of Editor UI" on the Unity Roadmap is about?

This would really help with seeing localized strings in the editor. Thanks.

I was also experiencing an issue with Korean characters no longer showing up in Unity and just realized I switched computers and the new one didn't have a Korean font installed...

Not sure, if it will help your case, but check out https://unity3d.com/unity/qa/patch-releases/5.3.1p3. It has a fix "[Windows 10]: Fixed incorrect display of Korean characters on Windows 10 (if Korean language pack is not installed) and Windows Phone 10, Unity will now fallback to "Malgun Gothic" font."

Hi there Tomas. We are having trouble with this, since Korean characters are not displayed in our game when executing it in Win10. We are using Unity v5.1.2f1 and we're days away from a Gold Master and the release comes this very Summer, so we cannot, by any means, upgrade the entire project at this point. Is there a way that we can have them working without that fix you link there?

The workaround would be to add a font inside your Unity project which has Korean characters and use that. Because the bug was only present for users how we're relying on builtin OS fonts.
