Question When will Lobby 1.1 exit pre-release

The multiplayer roadmap says that Realtime Lobby Updates is released, but Lobby 1.1.0-pre-5 is a pre-release package, and has been in pre-release for 10 months now. If the roadmap says the feature is done, how are we supposed to know what the plan and timeline for future updates and official release is? Is there going to be pre-6/7/8/etc releases or is 1.1 next?

Additionally, the changelog is really limited compared to changelogs in other official unity packages. Where are the known issues that we should be aware of when working with this pre-release package? What are the remaining issues holding it back from full release? It's impossible to make a decision on a multiplayer platform with such limited information.

Pre-release packages are not production-ready, so right now it seems reckless to add unity lobbies to an existing game. Integrating Lobby 1.0.3 would be considered safe, but it could be outdated any day now and it would be tedious to replace manual polling with lobby events.

edit: I realised after posting that there technically are lobby events in 1.0.3, but very limited compared to the events introduced in 1.1.0-pre4. So the question remains for the expanded lobby events.

 

@bartj-unity Could you please shed some light on my question, or point me in the direction of the person who can? In the time since posting my question you've answered another question by suggesting that the person should use the events in 1.1 pre-release. Unity's official advice is that pre-release packages should only be used for testing, so what should people do who want to integrate lobbies as an update for a live game?

 

@bartj-unity Any ETA for Lobby 1.1.0 Release candidate. we are using the pre-release version for the development. We are waiting for the RC version so we can push the game to Play Store.
