When trying to install Unity from Unity Hub, it disappears while installing.

    I'm using Windows 10, and when trying to download the latest stable version of Unity from the hub, it starts downloading but after some time the download just disappears. What could be happening?

    I'm having the same problem, previously no problem when editors were in sd card, now i change location to D drive and editors won't install from unity hub, it just disappear after download is finished. Any solutions?

    I experienced this when installing on a non-admin account on my Mac. It was because the Settings (Gear Icon) -> Unity Editors Folder was set to a location the current user did not have permissions for. Changing the value of this property to a folder the user could write to solved the problem.

    I am having the same problem too,but where does it give you the option to choose the file to download in?

    I'm having the same issue. It happen when the download is interrupted. It seems like Unity hub is automatically remove in progress download that is already discontinued due to some connection lost. If you want to re-create this issue try to remove your LAN cable or disconnect from your WIFI during in the middle of downloading and see what will happen.

    Why is this still a problem? :( The whole point of Unity Hub is to make managing Unity installations easier, yet I continually find myself using the old non-Hub installers because it is so unreliable. Sad.

    I have the same issue and the worst thing is that once installation is finished it disappears but my Mac hd disk space diminished like it was downloaded and is somewhere on the disk....Its awful. Can someone help to resolve it?

    Having the same issue. Tried downloading both beta of 2020 version and final of 2019 version.

    Also having the same problem. Going to Installs and within moments of the download icon appearing it simply disappears. Has anybody got any other suggestions that I could try?

    Hi there :)

    It would be really helpful if you could share the logs. Could you please attach them here or share somewhere else, so we can take a look?

    And few more questions:
    1. Are you using account with admin privileges?
    2. Are you able to reproduce this using latest version of the HUB (2.4.0-beta.2)?

    PIA to install any version of unity. This seems to have become worse with versions of unity hub.

    I do NOT install any modules during installation as this only compounds the chances of a problem.
    Monitoring the temporary download folder, the hub just stops downloading the install file randomly at any random point. It then tries to run the incomplete download with an obvious failure(This might be me remembering older versions of hub, new hub complains about crypto failure).
    When you try installing enough times, it eventually lucks out and grabs the complete file (This usually takes a WHOLE day of trying and trying and trying). Thankfully have unlimited internet.
    Once unity is installed, you then add each individual module at a time dealing with the same risks (Android SDK module is another big high chance requiring many frustrating attempted failures)

    My internet may be slow at 15mbps but it has 0% packet loss (and yes, I am wired). I have no download issues in any other programs. I can download the unity installation directly from the website all day long without issue. The only problem with the manual installation is how to add modules like webgl and android sdk, etc... after the fact. I have tried, but can never get rid of the message android sdk version not matched.

    So for whatever reason, the unity hub itself is not grabbing the full download files. This is the same for multiple unity versions 2019.x and 2020.x. Appears to be a problem directly with how unity hub handles its downloads.

    1) Running as Admin does not change anything
    2) Tried the 2.4.0-beta.2 today, and trying to install unity 2020.1.1f1 4 out of 4 times it comes back with installation Failed. (It at least has a message box that stays now). Its looking like the same problem as unity hub 2.3.2 and I think some previous versions as well.

    Trying to install the 2019.3.0f 6 Editor through Unity Hub 2.2.2
    - It completes the installation bar, but then disappears from the Unity Hub UI.
    - Relaunching Unity Hub shows the Editor in the installs tab, but it is in the constant "Installing" status.
    - The "2019.3.0f6" folder was created, but is empty.

    My account has admin priviliges and my hub is in version 2.3.2

    I tried installing using Unity Hub 2.4.0-beta.2, but it came back as an error saying "Installation failed. Something went wrong while trying to install 2020.1.1f1"

    I tried to delete everything from Temp and reinstalled Unity Hub 2.3.2, but the same happened.

    I noticed that a new folder called "unityhub-88334fc0-d8f6-11ea-a0b5-5fe5c585da7d" got made in the temp folder with everything I needed inside, like the UnitySetup64-2020.1.1f1.exe, UnitySetup-Android-Support-for-Editor-2020.1.1f1.exe and sdk, ndk and jdk as zip-files. But after executing the UnitySetup64 and the UnitySetup-Android, the "C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2020.1.0f1 Old\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer" folder still didn't have any sdk, ndk and jdk folders that are needed. And I don't know how to import the folders correctly from the zip files so that Unity can use them. When trying to extract the zip files, I am met with many "file-path length too long" errors, and I imagine renaming the files would just mess everything up.

    I had the same problem until now. Only thing is changed is wi-fi adapter.
    My very old D-link dwa140 (300mbit/s) has died.
    I've bought a new one adapter for a 633mbit/s and now it works great.

    Yup. Still broken, no fixes even though it says it has been resolved. Its all versions through the latest hubs and the website itself needs to be overhauled. It does not matter if you are using PC, MAC or whatever. The whole thing is a broken mess. With Unity's Budget you would think this would have been addressed sooner. I will give it two more days since many of us have been waiting for weeks or longer. If not I will inform my community of Gamers and Volunteer Developers for our community supported and sponsored project that due to these on going unresolved issues and false information of fixes that are not fixed, that we will be changing to a competitor's service that actually does get on the ball with fixing issues. It is unfortunate this nonsense continues to occur as I use to really enjoy working with the engine. 2 days or good luck with 'striving to improve Unity's reputation.'

    Deleting the temp directory contents did it for me (finally lol). I'll be nice, but clearly tons of us run into this, perhaps a Hub patch is in order?

    Hi everyone, I'm following these steps including the deleted temp files, but I just spotted that the hub flashed quickly "incomplete or corrupted download file". Has anyone had this experience and made it past this hurdle at all? Thanks for your time. :)

    Edit: Hub 2.4.2, trying to install Unity 2020.1.10f1. I've uninstalled Unity Hub, all Unity versions, Visual Studio Community, cleared temp files, then restarted.

    If you are downloading unity from a school protected thing that is the problem one idea to fix your issues is to reinstall the unity hub from the official site then download the new unity version

    I encountered the same problem i tried 3/3 times and it worked for me on the third try.
    I went to the settings, and under general i choose i different path where i had read and write access.

    I still rather use 2018.4.7. Less bugs or issues. Also dont download anything over WiFi. Make sure you have high speed internet and d Ethernet directly plugged into your PC or MAC or things will fail to install correctly. Avoid trying to install on several computers simultaneously over a network. Then install the HUB. Then go to the Archive for whatever version you want (current or earlier) and click the Green HUB button next to that version. Also before you determine which version, review all the bugs on what needs to be fixed. Have nothing else running than one window on your browser and the HUB while installing. When it offers to install Visual Studio, uncheck it and proceed. Add it later. Even after you are ready to install it, note that it often gives a false negative when you go to install other modules as if it was never installed. Just check your computer. Good luck everyone.     Installing 2021.1.1 with hub 2.4.3 and this kind of error still happen

    You people at unity should admit it that hub is seriously broken. Please focus on fixing this before wasting your time changling UI and layout around uselessly. Hub should do everything it could to finishing installation and registering editor into the hub at all cost

    Also hub should always check the temp folder for any existing temp file it has been loaded but fail to be installed. It should even have hash verification to see if everything are already downloaded before wasting time download the same file again and again. It waste every resource; time, space, bandwidth, CPU, ram, and also my patience everytime I try to install new version of unity

    Every now and then I stop to marvel at Unity's engineering incompetence. Not that I want to stop work, but this UnityHub bs is happening to me as well, second time now. I genuinely don't understand what's so hard about downloading something and then unpack it. Do you guys hire interns to develop UnityHub?

    On the Mac, my locations was set to Applications/Unity. Since there was another version of Unity installed in that location, I was having the same problem. Changing the location fixed the issue. Thanks

    If you notice that the editor disappears at the end, this is probably because you haven't set a file path or a valid file path for the editor to save in the Unity Hub Settings. Go to Settings -> General -> Unity Editors Folder, and give a file path/valid file path.

    None of the above solutions worked for me, including specifying a path for installation or clearing temp files and restarting. What DID work for me was:

    -Adding a new version in Unity Hub and watching it disappear
    -Going to the file that was downloaded in my "temp" directory
    -Running the setup from there and installing the new version to any location
    -Using the "locate" button in Unity Hub > Installs to locate the new version
