I've gone through multiple solutions and none worked.
When I try to run Unity 2020.1.3, I'm stuck on "Initialize Graphics". When I run Unity 2018.3.7, it loads but everything is blank.
I've had this problem 3 times.

With the first one, Unity 2018.3.7 crashed instead. I uninstalled and reinstalled Unity and it worked fine.

For the second time. I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and it didn't work. I ended up resetting my entire computer and then I reinstalled Unity and then it worked fine.

For the third time. I tried multiple solutions and nothing worked. I looked into DxDiag and everything that was needed to be enabled was already enabled so that wasn't applicable. I then updated the graphics drivers. That didn't work. I then did a clean installation for the graphics driver for Nvidia Geoforce GTX 1650. And I uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver for Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 and then updated the driver. And that didn't work.

This all happened over an improper shutdown. The second time, it started happening after I force shut down my computer due to it not willing to wake up after asleep. The third time, it started after I clicked shut down on my computer while the fan was running hard. Instead of shutting down, the computer got an error message and automatically restarted.

Are there any other solutions to this other than resetting my entire computer? I don't want to do that again.

    I fixed it.
Looking into Editor.log. I saw the following error message, "Failed to get socket connection from UnityShaderCompiler.exe shader compiler! C:/Program Files/Unity/Editor/Data/Tools/UnityShaderCompiler.exe" which is the source of the problem. I searched on how to fix that error and it turns out that my VPN caused the problem. After I disconnected from my VPN, Unity started to work properly.

The VPN was the problem. Thanks so much for this! xD I've lost too much time this week with projects that didn't want to start up.

What part of the startup process needs internet anyway?

For me the new update of Surfshark did this too. It stuck on initialize graphics, and counts to infinity. I white listed Unity in the VPN but it did not solve it (I assume the startup is a different process). Turning off the VPN solved it this morning. I haven't yet try to turn the VPN back afterwards, I am afraid it might cause more problems. Will try.

    Two things bothers me:
-Unity lets this situation happen where it counts upwards indefinitely. Why? It should just throw an error explaining why it stuck. At least throw a "It takes some time. Here: this is where we stuck. Do you want to wait? Or Cancel?" or something like that.
-Why it checks online at offline process like "initialize graphics" anyway?
