Using phone emulator is pain in the ass, and adding support for the proper controller doesn't seem too hard to do. When can we expect it to be added?

If you have a controller right now it should be usable with the Google Unity SDK. What version of Unity are you trying this with?

@joejo Could you provide instructions how we can do that? Just connecting controller with USB doesn't work.

I use Unity 5.4.2f2-GVR13 with GVR Unity SDK 1.1.

@joejo the OP is not asking how to code for it but rather when the actual Daydream controller can be used in the Editor (versus having to use another phone to emulate the controller). It just simply doesn't work, and even Google's documentation about Daydream hardware refers to still needing the Controller Emulator "for convenience" (?!?). What would be convenient is to just be able to use the actual controller. Have you heard any ETA's about if/when this is coming? Thx.

Hi, Tuitive. We're working on an update to the controller emulator that lets you send input from the controller to the phone to the editor. We expect that'll be available early in the new year.
