What's the point of this forum when Google won't let any of us developers publish content?

Do any of the 20 Google 'approved' developers even visit this forum?

I just checked some of the Daydream approved games on Google Play and my VR games have better ratings, nice. Yaay Daydream is finally out, we get to watch TV and play connect the dots.

Kellee Santiago from GoogleVR told me "All you have to do is make a great game!". Ok, I've done that better than Google can obviously, so what else do us indies have to do?

Am I just too "INDIE" to be considered by the great Google? Or is it because I make first person immersive VR experiences instead of doll house experiences?

NurFACE GAMES Game & VR Awards:

    - 1st Place Global Archiact VR Jam (2015, VR game) http://devpost.com/software/vr-rooms-imvu
    - 2nd Place HackWithMe Jam (2015, VR game) http://devpost.com/software/vr-game-antilucid
    - Build one of the most anticipated games from Oculus VR Jam 2015 http://devpost.com/software/mystery-of-malfaxus
    - Indiegames.com Ludum Dare Picks (2015, WebGL game) http://indiegames.com/2015/05/ludum_dare_32_picks.html

Speaking for myself, and perhaps others in the forum, I don't know what's the point of developing for Daydream if we can't publish our content.

I know right! I've been following your project and I am excited to play it. I find the lack of support for phones other than pixel frustrating as I am not in a position to upgrade to pixel just yet.

I'm hoping that cardboard doesn't go away anytime soon because it is still a great platform, my hope is that a 3rd party makes a daydream style controller for cardboard that goes mainstream. Any plans to release your game to cardboard? I would certainly buy it.

No, you haven't, not even close. At best you have a Cardboard prototype in severe need of polish.

The point is to curate a store of polished daydream games and apps specifically tailored for daydream, so the daydream apps don't get drown in sea of half baked cardboard ports.

Maybe stop taking shots at other peoples hard work and create something worth putting up.

I make plenty VR games that are worth putting up, they get higher ratings and win more awards than the projects that Google 'greenlights' and puts their own resources on. Fact:

I'm not here to take shots at other developers, I'm sure Bithell are cool guys.

Point is, I have won more award in VR than they have and also make higher rated VR games than they do. So what qualifies them to have Google assign team members to their studio to help them out? Meanwhile, all the rest of us VR devs are completely ignored by Google.

The purpose of this thread, is to raise awareness to other Indies (like myself): Don't expect to be able to publish your Daydream game.

Find a platform where you can publish your content, like Steam. You can be a 4x award winning VR dev with published VR content that gets better ratings than Google's own efforts, and Google will not let you publish to their exclusive store because you're not a part of their 'inner circle'.
